One Departs, One Arrives

Mortality…

This is a short post. I try not to post to frequently, I try not to overdo it, pacing these entries out. – You won’t see me posting weekly, but I will try to make every post count for something worthwhile.

First The Good News:

Significance changes next week on the home front. My son Rowan & his lovely wife Suzanne are expecting a Wee Baby this Monday as circumstances dictate the necessity of a hospital birth. Here are two photos which I adore:

We are so excited for them. A lovely couple, together 12 years now. They are the joy of our lives. (Thanks to Grace for the photos!)

This past Thursday, my sister Suzanne who has had ill health since March passed away suddenly on Thursday in Hospice. Luckily, Rowan and I had visited her just hours before. She was so excited about the coming child. She loved Rowan with all of her heart, when he walked into her room on Thursday she lit up. It was a wonderful visit.

Suzanne was the last member of my birth family. She was a metaphysical teacher, an excellent writer/author among many other things. We did not always see eye to eye, but we cherished each other. I already miss her; a part of my life has changed that will never return. I hope that her loved ones that had passed met her in The Western Lands. I pray.

=====

I think there are at least 3 types of family.

The one you are born into.

The one you might partner/marry into.

The family that you choose amongst friends and community.

There may be more forms of family, but this is what comes off of the top of my head. Honestly, I am reeling at this point with the departure of my sister, and the imminent arrival of the baby. One steps away, and another comes forward. Such has it always been.

So, grief is mixed with joy. These are the moments when we are perhaps the most alive. Tell your family that you love them, your friends, your community. We are here for such a short time. Make it a time of Love.

Bright Blessings,

Gwyllm
