Rare Film & backstage footage of the Late, Great NIna Simone, performing at her last ever concert 1990 performance at Paris Olympia (Bruno Coquatrix) includes songs Blue Sky, Mississippi Goddam – the protest song she penned after the 1963 murder of civil rights leader Medgar Evers and four African American school girls in an Alabama church bombing, and the perfect I Put A spell On You. I remember a Nina Simon performance at The Troubadour a nightclub located in West Hollywood, California, on Santa Monica Boulevard just east of Beverly Hills. A favorite venue of many Musical Artist in the 1970’s and 80’s because of the small intimate space that helps create a relationship between Artist and the audience. Nina Simon was powerful in that setting. I have not forgotten that performance.
