Note from Bruce King:

I just got finished reading the remarkable book, Where Judaism Differed, by Abba Hillel Silver. In it I found this quote from Maimonides:

“The sole object of wisdom is to know more.  The sole object of seeking Truth is to know truth.”

And this from Silver himself:

“The one universal God does not require one universal church in which to be worshiped, but one universal devotion.  In the realms of ascertainable facts, uniformity can be looked for.  In the realms of art and philosophy there can only be sincerity of quest and expression – only dedication.  Religion is the supreme art of humanity.”
