INITIATIONS: Universal Processes that Spark Transformation

“Initiation means that the ego must fail so that other depths of the psyche can come forward.”

This Jungian Sep 13, 2023 The archetype of Initiation is primordial, and its force guides our transformative transitions. For Jung, this change reshapes spiritual, emotional, intellectual, behavioral, and social dynamics. Rooted in his anthropological studies, Jung emphasized the vital role of formal ceremonies in fostering separation from parental influences and facilitating integration into adult communities. These ceremonies marked a clear transition from childhood and established an essential connection with the adult community, promoting the collaborative culture by containing unconscious forces. Derived from the Latin “initium,” Initiation carries the power of new beginnings, urging us towards greater consciousness and understanding. This journey transcends personal experience, reverberating universally through significant life milestones that act as gateways to realms of human experience, driven by archetypal activations inherent to all. Initiation contains three universal elements: separation, liminal space, and reintegration. This process is approached through a structured and ritualistic path in modern Mystery Schools. It begins with transitioning from our outer lives, then identifying what is alien to our true nature, followed by a dedication to a greater vision. Once ushered into a sacred space, we are helped to recognize the price of being unconscious. When our character flaws are personified and confronted, a Hierophantic figure reveals sacred objects, symbols, and teaching. These, along with various practices, seek to activate the archetype of transformation. Embraced into a community dedicated to mutual growth, Initiates re-enter their daily lives, tasked to integrate a more expansive attitude of themselves and life. The loss of most formal initiations in modern culture leaves these archetypal forces with no aesthetic process to affect the individual. Expressed unconsciously, they emerge as fraternity hazing or surviving a violent gauntlet to gain gang membership. Various mythopoetic movements have attempted to restore initiations for sons and daughters, bar mitzvahs carry ancient themes into contemporary life, and Freemasons strive to maintain ceremonies that make good men better. The archetype of Initiation is still alive and potent, perhaps struggling to find modern idioms and values to carry its transformative power forward.

The just released study on the extreme danger humanity and all living beings on earth now face as a result of climate change frankly ought to command the attention of every politician in the world, and it should be at the top of every nation’s agenda. But it does not, and is not. In the United States, for instance, I did not see a single television corporate media channel even mention this report. Today’s news was about how Hunter Biden five years ago when he was a cocaine addict, bought a gun, which he never used, or even loaded and in buying it falsely answered a form question as to whether he was using drugs when he bought the gun. A gun he owned for a total of 11 days. How many Red state gun owners who smoke marijuana, which is illegal in their states, as well as federally, do you think have done the same, when filling out the form? A hundred thousand, two hundred thousand, a million? The point of this drill is obviously to create counter programming about the Biden’s to counteract and take up media time so there is less coverage of Trump’s criminality.

If you wish to read the research study upon which this report is based see: A full picture of planetary resilience: All boundaries mapped out, six of nine crossed

Six of nine planetary boundaries are currently transgressed. The length of the wedges symbolizes what the current state of the corresponding process is, in relation to the distance from the planetary boundary (end of the green area) and the Holocene baseline (origin of the diagram). The color symbolizes the risks associated with each. For example, a wedge may be very long because the current state is already very far from the planetary boundary and the Holocene. But it may still not be purple, because that is not yet associated with very high risks in this particular case. In other cases already a “small” overshoot (short wedge) results in a big risk: Then the color further inside already changes to purple. Scientists behind a new study on the crossing of the Earth’s “planetary boundaries” on Wednesday likened the planet to a sick patient, warning that six out of nine barriers that ensure the Earth is a “safe operating space for humanity” have now been […]

Adam Crabtree on possession and tulpas

New Thinking Allowed with Jeffrey Mishlove Mar 10, 2018 Adam Crabtree, RP, is a trainer of psychotherapists and has a private therapy practice in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, He is author of From Mesmer to Freud: Magnetic Sleep and the Roots of Psychological Healing, Multiple Man: Explorations in Possession and Multiple Personality, Trance Zero: Breaking the Spell of Conformity, and Evolutionary Love and the Ravages of Greed. He is also coauthor of Irreducible Mind: Toward a Psychology for the 21st Century, and he is coeditor of Beyond Physicalism: Toward Reconciliation of Science and Spirituality. Here he explains the problems confronting psychotherapists when confronted with cases of ostensible possession. Are the manifestations due to intrapsychic, subconscious dynamics? Or, has the manifestation resulted from the activity of an external psychic or spiritual entity. Both levels of causality may be involved. Crabtree shares some experiences from his psychotherapy practice, including what might be considered a demonic form of possession. He also describes his early experience as a Catholic priest. Edited subtitles for this video are available in Russian, Portuguese, Italian, German, French, and Spanish. New Thinking Allowed host, Jeffrey Mishlove, PhD, is author of The Roots of Consciousness, Psi Development Systems, and The PK Man. Between 1986 and 2002 he hosted and co-produced the original Thinking Allowed public television series. Weekly Invitational Translation Group

Translation is a 5-step process of “straight thinking in the abstract.” The first step is an ontological statement of being beginning with the syllogism: “Truth is that which is so. That which is not truth is not so. Therefore Truth is all there is.” The second step is the sense testimony (what the senses tell us about anything). The third step is the argument between the absolute abstract nature of truth from the first step and the relative specific truth of experience from the second step. The fourth step is filtering out the conclusions you have arrived at in the third step. The fifth step is your overall conclusion.

The claims in a Translation may seem outrageous, but they are always (or should always) be based on self-evident syllogistic reasoning. Here is one Translation from this week.

1)    Truth is that which is so.  That which is not truth is not so.  Therefore truth is all that is.  Truth being all is therefore total, therefore whole, therefore complete, therefore otherless, therefore one, therefore united, therefore harmonious, therefore at peace.  I think, therefore I am. Since I am and since Truth is all that is, therefore I am Truth.  Since I, being, am Truth, therefore I, being, am total, whole, complete, otherless, one, united, harmonious, at peace.  Since I am mind and I am Truth, therefore Truth is Mind (Consciousness).

2)    People get the diseases they deserve.

Word-tracking:
deserve:  to be worthy of, to earn, serve, slave
disease:  ease, comfort, used to, lying adjacent to
people:  mortals
brain:  a person’s mind

3)    Truth being all is therefore limitless, therefore immortal.  So people (mortals) is a lie about the immortality of Truth.  Truth being immortal, and all-inclusive, cannot experience poverty (lack) in any area of life. Therefore the life of Truth is a life of comfort, affluence and ease.  The life of Truth being a life of ease cannot at the same time be a life of disease.  Truth being harmonious, is therefore orderly and thus cannot include any kind of brain or mental disorder or deficiency. Therefore Truth is sound, sane and infinite.  Truth being one cannot be exposed to a dangerous other, viral  or otherwise. Therefore Truth is totally invulnerable OR Truth is all that is communicable. Truth being one, pure, unadulterated, has no need to defend against anything untoward, therefore Truth is not inflamed.  Truth is cool.

4)    Truth is immortal.
People (mortals) is a lie about the immortality of Truth
The life of Truth is a life of comfort, affluence and ease.
Truth is sound, sane and infinite.
        Truth is totally invulnerable
        Only Truth is communicable.
        Truth is not inflamed.
        Truth is cool.

5)    Good News!  Truth/Mind is immortal, comfortable, affluent, at ease, sound, sane, infinite, invulnerable, communicable and cool.

Tarot Card for September 15: The Wheel of Fortune

The Wheel of Fortune

The Wheel of Fortune is numbered ten and is usually shown as a great wheel. Sometimes Fortuna is seen, turning the wheel for all eternity. There are people or animals on the Wheel – some are falling off to be crushed, some are struggling to stay on, while a solitary figure makes no attempt to maintain its position but succeeds anyway.

Fortune is not the same as luck. We make our own luck and follow our own destiny. Good fortune comes from the still centre which contains the very heart of ourselves. The seasons will continue to wheel, the sun will rise and set, the planets will move in their allotted courses – with or without us.

If we struggle against the flow of life, we become those struggling to ascend the Wheel, or even one of those crushed beneath it. However, if we realise our own power to create a beneficial future and then trust in that vision, we shall become the still figure, master of our own universe.

Virgo New Moon, September 14, 2023

Wendy Cicchetti

Virgo New Moon

The Virgo New Moon prompts the need to buckle down and get to grips with some of the more practical details of life. Such attention to minutiae may seem rather taxing or irritating, yet it could be very necessary to ensuring something runs smoothly or a problem finally gets resolved.

There is a focus on gradual and persistent efforts, since so many planets remain in retrograde motion at this time — indicating that nothing unfolds quickly or, at least, without concerted effort. It happens that all of the retrograde planets, apart from Saturn, are aspected by the Moon.

It feels like the Lights — the Sun and Moon — are leading the way, trying to get these other planets to cooperate, slowly but surely! The toughest challenge for the Lights is from retrograde Neptune, which opposes them, seemingly intent on leaning to the past or wandering off into escape or fantasy. Perhaps we have trouble being overly nostalgic or feel we are caught in a current that draws us backward or downward, when we would really rather be floating, breathing easily, and heading forwards!

The tension of the opposition can be somewhat alleviated once we realize that answers lie not in tugging hard or resisting one way or another, but in managing and responding to the details of the moment. If we consciously want to let go of some of the grip of the past, physical movement and breathing exercises could help, given that Virgo sometimes needs assistance to stay grounded.

There is also a rather joyful set of trines involving the Sun, Moon, and other planets — specifically, Uranus, Jupiter, and Pluto. These are of varying orbs, with Uranus closely connected, and Jupiter and Pluto less so. But, together, they form a loose earth grand trine, which points to their ability to manage practical affairs more easily than we may expect overall.

The Uranus trine to the Lights appears the most potent from its close orb, indicating that unexpected developments are to be embraced. An opportunity to make a beneficial change could easily come out of the blue — our only challenge will be making a fast decision to seize it! Equally, the element of surprise could work in our favor where we’re considering a particular undertaking; the wisdom here is to let those moments of inspiration drive us into useful action.

Virgo can represent quietly beavering away, getting results through small but helpful steps, and handling mundane tasks well. Here we have someone who may not be expecting awards for their efforts, yet may well deserve them! Acts reflecting reliability and that famous attention to detail will serve us well at this time.

As for Jupiter’s role, the retrograde status of the planet hints that some facets of the past are beneficial and helpful. We can take what we have learned from past experiences and let that help guide a steady path in the present. We may also have a bit of luck on our side, as Jupiter’s nature is in alignment with the spirit of the grand trine.

Pluto in Capricorn — often feared as one of the sky’s troublemakers — may show a more helpful side, assisting us in identifying and letting go of what is no longer relevant or needed in our lives. In removing any blinkers, we are able to make choices more clearly. Overall, the plethora of retrograde outer planets — Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto — is remarkable, with the brakes seemingly on in many areas of life at once. Yet, fragments of possibilities may align quietly in the wings or underground, and once the right chemistry occurs among them, we will begin to see more action center stage!
