Tarot Card for February 23: The Ace of Disks

The Ace of Disks

The Ace of Disks marks, on the everyday level, the start of a new project, which is likely to be successful. So it will come up to show a new job, or a new business venture. Usually this will be the sort of project that seems to continuously keep on growing, with each level of attainment producing – almost of itself – the next step in the journey.

Sometimes the Ace will come up to indicate a sudden change of material fortune, or a windfall – though either of these would have to be quite substantial to invoke the Ace. Aces are always big influences, marking the beginning of something new and important. So if we see the card coming up to represent a sudden input of funds, expect this to cause major changes in the querent’s life.

On a more spiritual level, this card relates to the Earth, and to the appreciation of Nature. It might mark a period where we draw closer to environmental issues, or where we engage in a period of study, contemplation and alignment with Earth forces.

One thing that we often miss, when considering spiritual development, is the way that each development grows out of the last. Anyone who has been involved in the search for spiritual truth will already have experienced the weirdly coincidental manner in which spiritual opportunities and teachers present themselves at the relevant stage in our growth.

There’s a saying – ‘The right teacher only appears when the student is ready’. It is as though we grow spiritually from the inside, the same way that trees do. And in so doing, maybe we develop inner rings – just like a tree’s trunk. The outer ring, just under the bark could not exist without all of the others it encircles.

We’re basically the same. The topic that we are exploring today has grown from all of the earlier topics we have looked into. Our experience is formed in layers, each of which is inter-dependent with the earlier ones. The Ace of Disks relates very closely with this method of human development – it shows us the way we grow. And warns us against trying to skip any of the stages!

God Admits He’s A Little Flattered When Someone Kills In His Name

Published Yesterday (theonion.com)

HEAVEN—Saying He guessed His love language was just acts of service, the Lord God, He Who Commanded Light To Shine From The Darkness, admitted Tuesday that He is still a little flattered when someone kills in His name. “Yeah, I know, I know—people shouldn’t do it, but I can’t help but feel a bit touched when someone blows up a couple dozen people in a crowded marketplace just for little old Me,” said the Divine Creator, adding that when He got down in the dumps, it was a real pick-me-up to be reminded that He was worth beheading, slaughtering, or gunning down tens of thousand of innocents over. “I know it’s bad. People really shouldn’t kill. But what can I say? I appreciate the attention. Especially genocides. I mean, it’s hard not to blush when someone is killed on an altar for you.” God added, however, that nothing would ever beat the confidence boost he received several millennia ago when one of His followers tried to sacrifice a son for Him.

Tarot Card for February 22: The Knight of Disks

The Knight of Disks

With the Knight of Disks we see a man who is deeply committed to practical matters in life – work, career, home and family are his major spheres of influence. He is diligent, hard-working and pays great attention to detail.

His progress in life is a steady, sure development of ongoing projects, which he works through with great industriousness and perseverance. Not for him, risky schemes, nor extravagant business deals. He moves with caution and circumspection, consolidating each step forward before taking the next one.

Some would consider him dull and boring – others would call him prudent and reliable.

The card often comes up to represent a quiet man, whose approach to life is measured and calm. However it’s as well not to be taken in by the sturdy exterior. Disks males have a capacity for deep and boundless passion – they just don’t shout too loudly about it. Whilst life with him may not be a roller-coaster ride, you will surely know what to expect, and what you can count on.

He makes an excellent business partner, particularly for the high-flyer, because he introduces forethought and pre-planning. He’s a faithful and dependable partner, and a committed father.

Emotions will be the Topic in Calvin’s March 2023 Workshop.

Emotions are something We all have, as well as our attitude and underlying beliefs about emotions—whether or not we’re aware of them—can affect our moods as well as happiness in life.

We can at times feel overwhelmed by Emotions, we can find  ourselves trying to demystify them, especially if we have been waylaid by sudden anger or an out-of-proportion emotion to whatever prompted it, or a feeling of being down for seemingly no reason.

Some of the beliefs about our emotions are that they should be positive, a manageable force in our lives, and not unwanted interlopers that wreak havoc on our psyche. These beliefs may be unconscious, implicit, and explicit messages we receive from our parents and our culture as to proper behavior generally derived from childhood.

Can you change your emotions? Would you want to change your emotions? What do you really know about Emotions?

Come join us for a Fun afternoon when we will take a dive into the concepts of Emotions using film and discussion. As always we ask that you come curious and ready to participate.

The discussion will revolve around

Disney/Pixar’s film –  Inside Out.
