Zat Rana on forgiveness

Zat Rana

Forgiveness is rarely about other people. It’s a coping mechanism that takes off cognitive load so that you can move on with your life. Hate and resentment are mentally exhausting, and they live beneath the surface even if you don’t think about them. Forgive but don’t forget, they say, and I suspect they say so for good reason.
