Solar flare on January 10, 2023

This image of a solar flare was captured by NASA’s Solar Dynamics Observatory on January 10, 2023. Solar flares are powerful bursts of energy. Flares and solar eruptions can impact radio communications, electric power grids, navigation signals, and pose risks to spacecraft and astronauts. This flare was classified as X1.1. The strongest flare ever recorded was in 2003, classified as X28.
