Gemini Full Moon

The Gemini Full Moon reminds us of options, including that there are always at least two ways of seeing things. Will we see the obvious answer to a problem or look out for the less typical solution? Will we walk the road less traveled — or keep to the tracks and habits that we know and trust?

Interestingly, Gemini is both open to trust and has decidedly closed moments. One trait of this sign can be a certain restlessness, which may lean into indecision — do we settle for the first option, or insist on seeking out another? While we seem to enjoy options given to us, why do we have one eye out for something (or someone) else? Whatever the answers to these questions may be, perhaps we only need to observe them and decide if we’re happy with our choices and how we’ve made them.

It can be tempting under a Full Moon to see a situation in a rather extreme way and act accordingly. For example, we may decide that something must go from our lives, then, suddenly, we’re in a massive letting-go process. That could be entirely appropriate, of course. But the Full Moon is an extreme point in the cycle where it’s directly opposite the Sun. Light shines upon something in a way that may be almost blinding — and our reaction could be extreme. We are horrified, repulsed, or shocked in a way we can’t ignore and have a kneejerk reaction as a result.

The good news is that we’ll soon know if we’ve gone a bit too far with anything because we’ll feel it or see it. With any luck, we’ll be able to get hold of the Gemini logic that says, “It’s OK. There’s another way forward,” and through this, we can change tracks.

However, things start to take shape under this Full Moon and there’s almost a guarantee we’ll land on our feet, since the Moon applies to a trine of Jupiter, the planet most associated with blessings and good fortune. This augurs well for a health matter, showing the potential for improvement. The Moon separates from a quincunx with Venus and Pluto in Capricorn — showing the roots of problems, perhaps in toxicity, sugar sensitivity, or even relationship or financial troubles. As we find a way to address any of these, we trigger a potential healing moment.

If we don’t know a way to begin problem-solving, we could start with a simple meditation to help cleanse and rebalance the chakras — the spiritual energy centers within and around our body. Donna Cunningham offers an effective meditation in Astrology and Vibrational Healing (Cassandra Press, 1988) which involves visualizing a fireball of white light, slowly working through the center column of the body, from the root chakra upwards. The fireball consumes any obstructions, replacing darkness with light and bringing a greater balance. Through this simple ritual, we are afforded the opportunity to cleanse any emotional or psychic overload that arose, helping us make better connections, both internally and externally.
