Cuckoo Wasp up close

Photographer John Hallmén has developed an effective method for photographing insects in great detail. This picture of a Cuckoo Wasp is made from 178 individual exposures that were combined through a process known as “stacking.” Stacking is also widely used in astrophotography, particularly to capture images of nebulae that are generally invisible to the naked eye.
