Capricorn Full Moon

This is the second Capricorn Full Moon, representing a two-in-a-row situation. In June, it was at 1°, and in July, it’s at 29° — the other end of the spectrum! The latter is a critical degree, signifying a need to finally get something done. So, whether a project has been held up or has made good but incomplete progress, it might take just one more push to finalize. This could feel like quite an effort, yet it may not take much to manage. The Capricorn ian emphasis supports the idea of the long run, keeping the impetus going, despite any setbacks along the way. This may be like repeatedly restarting an engine after a car stalls. But eventually, we do get to the destination, no matter the age or condition of the vehicle!

It’s worth noting that the Moon is in a dissociate conjunction with Pluto. We may finally knock a problem on its head or find that resolving one issue inadvertently resolves another. The sign difference could also be indicative of the need for a mix of energies. Perhaps we have earthy, practical help, alongside someone’s input, good advice, or a fresh view, in accord with Pluto in the air sign of Aquarius.

Another potential is that we intuit something that seeded late spring or early summer last year with Pluto’s first ingress into Aquarius. Although the planet only reached 0°22′, just shy of 0°54′ during this lunation, we may have had a fleeting thought about the future — particularly a more ideal future. And now, we have a chance to start making it real. Or, in some cases, a second chance at something.

For example, I’m reminded of a situation where someone offered to form a group to gather and discuss strategies for self-employed people. At that time, I didn’t feel any need; but years on, while I appreciate the benefits of freelancing, I have realized it can be a rather lonesome path. A while back, I was reflecting that it might be nice to bounce ideas off someone with similar focuses and experiences. And, lo and behold, someone like this appeared in my midst, seemingly out of nowhere! This seems to echo the Uranus codispositorship of Pluto in Aquarius.

The Moon trines Uranus, emphasizing the down-to-earth, receptive, solid aspects of Capricorn and Taurus. Interestingly, Mars is in Gemini in a dissociate conjunction with Uranus and trine Pluto, emphasizing the moving-and-shaking qualities of the air element. About a particular issue, we might need to be more vocal or get more input from someone with power and influence — or, at least, a second viewpoint.

This may well be the time for taking a different approach with an ongoing concern, such as a health condition or business matter. Sometimes, we can only go so far with one practitioner or system. Viewpoints or applications can be limiting. The late-degree lunation indicates a transition from late-degree earth to early-degree air, reflecting the turning of a page or simply becoming open to alternatives. We may also apply this approach with a property, domestic, or relationship concern and find that we emerge with renewed energy and inspiration for a better way forward. Or we can pick up a half baked plan or stagnant situation, breathing new life into it and starting to make fuller strides toward a successful and happy finish line.

The Moon also sextiles Neptune in Pisces at a critical degree, emphasizing an opportunity to finally “Sail On,” as Commodores lead Lionel Ritchie famously sang, or “Sail Away” as David Gray described in a song with a similarly Piscean theme. For anyone hoping to make progress with a situation, even just listening to such songs could assist, whilst the Moon links with Neptune!
