In 1967, the Episcopal Bishop of California, James Pike, publicly reported on his communications with his deceased son through the mediumship of Ena Twigg in London. Pike gave up his position as Bishop to pursue other studies, including after-death communication. Later, in a dramatic event, he became lost in the desert in Israel. After his death, but before his body was discovered, he appeared in spirit to Ena Twigg.
