A Startup Has Been Quietly Pitching Cloned Human Bodies to Transfer Your Brain Into

It’s as outrageous as it sounds.

Since the mid-1990s, scientists have been obsessed with cloning animals. Dolly the sheep famously became the first mammal to be cloned from a cell taken from an adult mammary gland almost 30 years ago, in 1996.

Transitioning from cloning animal embryos to human ones has proven far more controversial, and not only because of the litany of risks involved. So far, scientists have only gone as far as to generate human embryo models grown stem cells and clone primates from fetal cells — rather than adult cells, like Dolly.

That hasn’t stopped some from exploring the idea as part of a secretive effort to realize an alternative to anti-aging tech that sounds like it was ripped straight out of a dystopian science fiction novel. A billionaire-backed stealth startup, called R3 Bio, recently announced that it was raising money to develop non-sentient monkey “organ sacks,” as Wired reported last week, an eyebrow-raising alternative to animal testing. Such structures would contain all typical organs excluding the brain, ultimately serving as a source for donor organs and tissues.

But according to a sprawling followup investigation by MIT Technology Review, R3 Bio’s founders secretly have a far more ambitious goal in mind: creating entire “brainless clones” of the human body that aging or ill individuals could one day transplant their brain into. One advantage of not developing the brain in the donor bodies, albeit a ghoulish one: such a brain-free clone would neatly circumvent certain moral conundrums over the concept.

Still, to call the idea ethically fraught would be a vast understatement. Despite an insider likening a pitch they heard from R3’s founder, John Schloendorn, to a “close encounter of the third kind” with “Dr. Strangelove” in an interview with Tech Review, the company has since distanced itself from the idea of brainless human clones.

The company said its founder “never made any statement regarding hypothetical ‘non-sentient human clones’ [that] would be carried by surrogates” in a statement to Tech Review, and insisted that “any allegations of intent or conspiracy to create human clones or humans with brain damage are categorically false.”

Strikingly, though, cofounder Alice Gilman told the publication that the “team reserves the right to hold hypothetical futuristic discussions” about brainless clones involving humans.

Beyond the ethical implications, experts also threw cold water on the biological feasibility of full body replacement.

“There are so many barriers,” Michigan State University researcher Jose Cibelli, who was among the first to try to clone human embryos by obtaining matched stem cells in the early 2000s, told Tech Review, from illegality and safety issues to the fact that an artificial womb remains science fiction.

“You’d have to convince a woman to carry a fetus that is going to be abnormal,” he said.

The considerable “yuck factor,” per Cibelli, seemingly has R3’s founders undeterred. Schloendorn has been investigating the idea of human replacements for years now, Tech Review reports, regularly giving seminars behind the scenes about the idea and pitching investors on it.

“We will try to do it in a way that produces defined societal benefits early on, and we need to be prepared to take no for an answer, if it turns out that this cannot be done safely,” he wrote in a 2024 LinkedIn message to Tech Review.

He declined an interview with the magazine, arguing that he wanted to show that the benefits are “reasonably grounded in reality” before taking R3 out of stealth mode.

April Astrology Forecast 2026

The Astrology Podcast Mar 30, 2026 Monthly Astrology Forecasts A deep dive into the astrology forecast for April 2026, with astrologers Chris Brennan and Austin Coppock of The Astrology Podcast. The first hour is dedicated to unpacking the astrology behind recent world events, with a primary focus on the outbreak of war in Iran that aligned with the recent Mars-Uranus square. We explore the striking historical repetitions at play, discussing how current Saturn-Neptune and eclipse cycles mirror significant historical turning points from the past, and what that means for the present global landscape. In the second half, we transition into the granular astrology of April, a month characterized by a fiery, highly concentrated planetary stellium in Aries. The standout alignment is a severe and grinding Mars-Saturn conjunction peaking mid-month, bringing intense friction, tests of endurance, and a distinct feeling of pressing the gas and the brakes at the exact same time. Finally, we look ahead to the monumental shift occurring on April 25 as Uranus officially ingresses into Gemini, where it will remain for the next seven years. We discuss the profound historical precedents of this transit, often coinciding with major ideological shifts, communicative and technological disruptions, and pivotal conflicts in US history, and what it implies for the years ahead. The Astrology Of April 2026 – Uranus Enters Gemini

(Astrobutterfly.com)

The astrology of April 2026 is jaw-dropping. Let’s put it this way: if you thought March was intense, wait for April.

April 2026 carries a massive concentration of Aries energy

First Mars, then Mercury enter the sign and activate – almost back-to-back – the Aries planets already there: Neptune, Saturn, and Chiron.

And when the Moon joins the party on April 16th, we end up with a record of 7 planets in Aries, culminating on April 17th with a New Moon stellium in Aries conjunct Chiron!

Even if the Aries energy is loud and dominant, the most important event of the month is Uranus’ ingress into Gemini.

A new 7-year chapter is about to begin, and as with any Uranus ingress, this shift will not go unnoticed – expect sudden shifts in focus and direction.

However intense this energy is – and it will be intense – there is also a sense of flow and coordination, thanks to the supportive aspects between Pluto, Uranus, and the planets in Aries.

But let’s look at the most important transits of the month:

uranus in gemini

April 2nd, 2026 – Full Moon In Libra

On April 2nd, 2026, we have a Full Moon at 12° Libra. The Full Moon is T-squaring Jupiter at 15° Cancer.

At best, the square to Jupiter in Cancer arrives as a much-needed nurturing counterbalance to a conflict that has reached a point of “it’s me vs you, we can’t see eye to eye.”

At worst, the same Jupiter in Cancer can inflate and moralize a ‘truth’ that is as subjective as the emotions behind it. Suddenly, everyone is very sure they’re right!

The Moon in Libra has a natural orientation to listen to the other point of view. The question is whether we use that awareness to bring emotional intelligence into the conflict – or to justify our own position and escalate into ideological polarization.

April 9th, 2026 – Mars Enters Aries

On April 9th, 2026, Mars enters its sign of domicile, Aries, and immediately begins applying to Neptune (exact on April 13th) and Saturn (exact on April 19th).

In Aries, Mars brings an urgency to act – I only have one life to live – and the first encounter is Neptune, which tends to idealize what’s possible.

The reality check comes shortly after, with Saturn.

Mars conjunct Saturn is not about abandoning the dream or giving up the pursuit – it’s about getting clear on how realistic and feasible that direction actually is.

Wherever this leads, Mars in Aries will intensify the drive for all of us, sharpening the impulse to go after what we want.

April 15th, 2026 – Mercury Enters Aries

Mercury follows Mars into Aries on April 15th, 2026.

After such a long time in Pisces – due to the retrograde – most of us are probably ready for some clarity.

Once in Aries, Mercury moves quickly, and by April 19th, it reaches Saturn and Mars, forming a triple Mercury-Mars-Saturn conjunction at 7° Aries.

Triple conjunctions are rare by nature – we have not only one but 3 planetary cycles converging at the same degree simultaneously, a level of celestial coordination that simply doesn’t happen often.

When it does, something becomes clear enough to act on – and significant developments almost always follow. Pay close attention to whatever is emerging now in the Aries sector of your chart.

April 16th, 2026 – Sun Conjunct Chiron

On April 16th, 2026, the Sun conjuncts Chiron at 26° Aries.

Aries is about “I am” – and Sun conjunct Chiron here touches the places where simply being ourselves has not always come easily.

Chiron, the half-horse, half-human, is a symbol for the lifelong process of integration – learning how to hold different parts of ourselves at once, without rejecting any of them.

In astrology, Chiron is associated with the “wound,” but the wound isn’t really the point. What matters is our relationship with the parts of ourselves we haven’t yet fully welcomed in.

As long as those parts remain unaccepted, Chiron keeps pointing at them – and that process can feel like reopening old wounds.

But what’s important to remember is that it’s our own self-rejection that creates the pain. There is nothing about us that doesn’t belong to us. And as long as we doubt this, Chiron will keep nudging us until we get it.

April 17, 2026 – New Moon In Aries

On April 17, 2026, we have a New Moon at 27° Aries – conjunct Chiron. The New Moon is infused with that same Chironic invitation: to meet ourselves as we are.

The entire lunar cycle, through to next month’s New Moon in Taurus, will carry that undertone. It’s healing – now or never.

This is also the last New Moon in Aries with Chiron present. The last beat of a 7-year process of redefining our relationship with ourselves – before we move forward into the Taurus chapter of the Chiron journey.

April 20th, 2026 – Sun Enters Taurus

On April 20th, 2026, Sun enters Taurus, and the Taurus season begins. Happy birthday to all Taurus people out there!

The Sun’s ingress into Taurus brings a much-needed change of pace. There has been so much fire, so much cardinal energy and forward thrust, that things are now in desperate need to settle, stabilize, and find more grounded footing.

Taurus season is when we move from initiation to consolidation – taking what Aries set in motion and giving it form, weight, and staying power.

April 24th, 2026 – Venus Conjunct Uranus

Surpriiiise! You thought you’d seen it all by now? Wait for the Venus-Uranus conjunction at 29°54’ Taurus – right at the very end of the sign.

This transit is the final twist no one saw coming. Something reaches a point of no return – and what emerges may be VERY different from where we thought things were heading.

A conjunction at the very last minutes of a sign has that “I waited until the very end to make my move, and the moment I make it, I’m done here” quality. There’s something both decisive and irreversible about it.

From here, Venus ingresses into Gemini, with Uranus following a couple of days later – and with both planets in Gemini, the landscape shifts completely. The Taurus chapter closes, and we step into a different world altogether. Gemini, here we come!

April 26th, 2026 – Uranus Enters Gemini

On April 26th, 2026, Uranus enters Gemini. We had a first taste of this transit last year, when Uranus briefly entered Gemini (in July 2025) before retrograding back into Taurus, in November 2025.

This time, however, Uranus enters Gemini for the long haul – for 7 years – to revolutionize the sign and the Gemini area of our charts.

A detailed report about this important transit will follow closer to the date.

Self-Sabotage Might Be Something Else

(holisticlifenagivation.com)

We sleep through an alarm, do something we know gets us fired from a job we wanted, or even behave in such a way that ruins a relationship you’ve been feeling really nourished by.
Self-sabotage suggests that I do things to myself to destroy the good things that come my way. Once you understand the somatics of capacity you’ll see that this isn’t entirely true.

The greatest issue I see with self-sabotage is the shame.
We feel bone-deep shame that we did something to ruin our joy, our potential goodness, or an opportunity we’ve been waiting for.
But what if self-sabotage is really a way we intervene so as to not receive something we cannot handle?
What if, without the self-sabotage, we experience burn out, illness, and dissociation?
I’ve come to revere my self-sabotaging strategies instead of shaming and damning them. When I feel them coming on, or I witness them happening, I understand this as a signal. Just like with freeze and procrastination.
The signal is: you don’t have capacity for what you want.
And it’s with that truth I go to work tending to my capacity so that I can, eventually, receive what it is I think I want.
Or I can be super humbled and realize that I don’t actually want it at all.

The first thing I want you to do is start seeing your procrastination or lack of motivation as a message from your body. A signal. An expression. Not a state.
When it’s your state or your identity you cannot move out of it because you are attaching to it. “I’m a procrastinator” is a good example of this. You have labeled what is really a message from your body about your capacity as who you are. No bueno.
When you understand that procrastination is freeze, and freeze is what the body does when it doesn’t know how to move excess energy, then you enter into a conversation.
Your procrastination becomes a message that you’re overwhelmed. So try this right now.
1) Identify something that you’re avoiding or procrastinating doing.
2) Feel the tension in your body (the freeze) or the lifelessness/numbness (the collapse) when you think of this.
3) Put your hand over that place and say to it, as if it was a friend or a child, “You’re really overwhelmed right now and don’t have capacity to do this.”
4) Notice how it responds. What emotions, sensations, or movements emerge?
5) You can refer to the pillow practice in email #1, or just sit with whatever comes up.
This is a simple practice to help you start relating to what’s really happening, somatically, underneath the behavior of procrastination.

Like the example I used in the first email: a car crash is a great place for freeze. I tense up as I watch the big hunk of metal barrel at my car because there’s nothing else I can do.
Self-sabotage has a similar physiology. The approaching talk I’m going to give or the intimate relationship I’ve been waiting for that barrels its way toward me is too much for my body.
I’m not ready for it. So instead of tending to myself, moving, acting, and expressing – my body begins to tense up. It is from this tension that self-sabotage emerges.
And this is why it’s not about self-hatred, it’s about self protection.

Your body is trying to get you out of the way of this thing coming toward you. The shame and confusion come from the fact that you “want” this thing. They come from this thing being “good”. So you must really hate yourself if you ruin good things, right?
Nope.
Good things also take time to be with. Good things also have a charge in the body. Good things also require capacity to receive.
And when you lack that capacity, you’ll probably “self-sabotage”.

Capacity is the body’s ability to feel and metabolize sensations, stress hormones, and experiences.
Capacity is based on your body’s ability to soften instead of constrict. It’s about your liver’s ability to remove excess adrenaline from your bloodstream. It’s about your blood sugar levels being stabilized so that you can meet stress from a calmer body, so that there is more room within you for things to move.
When you lack capacity, you lack the ability to tolerate big sensations.
Receiving good things like love, money, friendship, and even joy can be really sensational. These can create mania for someone who cannot regulate. These can also create shutdown for other bodies that fear it.
But what is really being feared here? Defenselessness.
A body living and developing in the tightness of freeze simply has little experience feeling openness. Receiving is an open posture. It’s a dropping of one’s guard.
Understanding that what you want (desire) isn’t always congruent with your body’s ability to handle it (capacity) can be truly life changing. It was for me, at least. I have a whole podcast episode on it right here.
Seeing self-sabotage as a gauge for where my capacity is to experience something has allowed a new relationship to myself, and for opportunities to emerge.
I’m not taking opportunities from a desperate urgency anymore, nor am I wallowing in a spiral of shame for months after “fucking something up”.
I’m just listening, understanding, and learning where my body is at and what it needs moment to moment.

I find, over and over again, when I relate to a part of myself that I formally despised I experience powerful transformation. This is true for both my relationship to myself and others.
This audio exercise will guide you to get in touch with your self-sabotaging. To feel where it lives in your bones, and to begin holding it and speaking to it as a kind parent would to a child.

See what emerges and takes form.
