The Future of GodA Call to Consciously Evolve

Never before in human history have we had so much complexity, uncertainty, and change to deal with. Religion used to tell us how to navigate life. But those of us who have close religious affinity have often been left wanting because religions evolved in a different time, and are now challenged in their ability to adequately equip us to deal with the complexities of the lives we’re living. What prophet of the past, no matter how enlightened, could have told us how to relate to a global climate crisis, or how to live in the face of the chaos and uncertainty of modern life? Most of us would probably agree that losing the repressive religious dogmas of the past has been a good thing, allowing us the space and freedom to create our own personal meaning about life. But the price for that freedom might also be the loss of a unifying mythology—a collective compass that would help us navigate our challenging times.

How can we resurrect our sense of the sacred within a scientifically enlightened, evolutionary worldview? How can we discover a unifying context of meaning and purpose without adopting any dogmatic or superstitious belief systems? In this 2-hour talk, Craig explores the future of religion, spirituality, and God in an evolving universe.
