The Full Moon on 9 July 2017 falls at 17º Capricorn decan 2. The Full Moon July is a black rod of iron in that it plugs right into Mars opposite Pluto. To say this will be intense is an understatement. Amplifier Jupiter heats up this flaming poker aspect from the scales of justice in Libra. So we end up with a very hot cardinal T-square! That’s quite a heatwave and we are in the middle of summer. Phew! It also aligns with major stars in the constellation of the harp. What sorcery will the haunting sound of the lair/lyre play?
We all know the expression to pull on the violin strings, well with Lyra being triggered, any cyber/mind control will be turned up full blast. Watch out for compelling images accompanied by a 120 piece orchestra. However, Jupiter in the T-square might provide an escape from all this Hollywood style lunacy and work as an antidote the Pluto’s schemes. With Moon conjunct Pluto some very Dark Cupid relationships could reeve up, but at least Jupiter can provide some balanced evaluation of the seduction.
The Full Moon July falls in Capricorn decan 2, which is a tough placement such a sensitive body. Instead of home comforts, the new moon seeds are expected to grow in a fairly spartan environment. The land here is hard and dry, so it will take some toil to make it fertile. Much depends on carefully organizing structures in order to yield the best results from this Full Moon. This month will probably be one of hard knocks and deferred gratification then. It will be hard for anyone touched by this Full Moon to be empathetic to anyone who might be lagging behind due to domestic problems. With the intense planetary aspects too, they will have to maintain a ‘pull yourself up by your bootstraps’ approach.
Because of the seductive aspect of this Full Moon. There is an element of using ones sexual allure to seal a business deal. Those touched by this moon should beware of a potential partner who seems quite blown away by your money, popularity or influence. This is quite an insidious, gold-digging Full Moon and one could get easily carried away by flattery. The ruthless side of Capricorn decan 2 will do anything to climb the pyramid. Unfortunately, because of this Moon’s conjunction to Pluto, we may turn a blind eye to the nefarious motives behind a prospective suitor and go down into the forbidden rabbit hole all the same. The positive side to this Moon is that it is a great one if you are creating very powerful and imposing architecture. Three dimensional structures make a big impression and sculpture is well starred.
Full Moon on Sheliak in Lyra “In connection with the Moon…a tendency for occult and mysticism may be given.” The Moon adds more shadow, introspection and intuition to Lyra. The claw stars of the vulture here highlight forgery and faking it, which could bring some unsavory characters out of the woodwork. For your average person however, this imaginative Full Moon will definitely need to purge out its dark side through some art form or vent its spleen playing a musical instrument. The Full Moon might bring some public disgrace to a bully who has had this exposure coming for a long time.
Moon conjunct Pluto is penetrating, provocative and plunges headlong into the dark sea of lunar emotions without fear. This Moon wants nothing less than to start dramatic and intense sexual relationships that profoundly transform their soul. The closer this New Moon brushes with death and trauma, the more alive it feels. At this Full Moon July we may get obsessively involved with a project or person, but then suddenly swoop off alone to process the commotion we have created.
Moon opposition Mars creates a dynamo of energy that needs expression in some physical action. If other factors in the native’s chart place restrictions on this aspect, then the frustration can become dangerous to others or become self-destructive. At its worst, the rage with the opposition can turn very bitter and vindictive. Moon opposition Mars is less tempestuous if it is allowed freedom, and it cannot bear to be hemmed in.
Independent thinking and self -sufficiency is their number one priority. On the whole though, Moon/Mars hard aspects are an extremely courageous combination and you would want to have this person fighting on your side. This aspect makes for very honest and direct dealings; their reactions are fast and instinctive. They are also fantastic in an emergency, sensing danger way before anyone else.
This is quite a useful Full Moon if you don’t allow yourself to be intimidated by it. The purging aspects are strong which means it will be an excellent Full Moon for detoxification. It will feel a bit like a phoenix out of the flames, especially since there is some bird symbolism involved. Lyra’s is the constellation of the harp but some depictions of this constellation include a vulture which holds the Lyra between its talons. Lyra is artistic but is also quite ruthless. This star particularly resonates with artists agents or managers. Creatives will need to watch they don’t get exploited by their supposed ‘benefactors’. Be wary of those who promise too much, there is no such thing as a free lunch, as the saying goes.
This is a very challenging and possibly volatile Full Moonwith Mars in Cancer conjunct the Sun, and in an oppositionto the Moon and Pluto in Capricorn. The Moon is not happy in Capricorn and tends toward fear, criticism, seriousness and depression. And with all the other stressful planetary energy impacting the Moon at this time, it is anything but happy and fun energy. This is one of those times where you want to keep your head down and go about your business. Tempers are short and irritability abounds.
The carnage created by Pluto in Capricorn from 2008 to 2024, as it tears down all the old structures from business to governmental, leaves us all shaking our heads and wondering if this destruction and insanity will ever end. We have 7 more years to try and get it right. But things will not dramatically shift into something we can all appreciate until more of earths’ souls wake up and there is a greater concentration of higher consciousness.
Try not to take things personally right now. It is what it is, and many of the players on the global stage are just acting out the energies needed to eventually create substantive change. The majority of the big decision makers in the world, politically and corporate related are totally unconscious, as their eyes are focused only on money and power, which resists a shift in consciousness. Giant egos are at the helm. What we see happening is like the physical body going through detoxification; it gets a lot worse before it gets better. The toxic die off happens more rapidly than the body has a way to eliminate it all. It will eventually improve.
Have an open heart knowing that everyone is impacted in some way. Take responsibility for your responses to others and your words and actions during this stressful Full Moon. Be patient, wise, nonjudgmental and forgiving. Everywhere you go there are people just acting weird and out of character. People are acting out to try and get the help and attention they desperately need. In Homburg, Germany, in protest of the G20 Summit, a thousand people dressed as grayed walkers, symbolizing the apathy of the electorate, walked through the city and eventually shed their gray attire in the act of waking up and taking action moving forward. See it here. We can take action to get the attention we desire, but it needn’t be aggressive and volatile to be affective.

A Full Moon symbolizes the fulfillment of the seeds planted at a previous New Moon or some earlier cycle. Each Full Moon reminds us of the seeds that may be coming to maturity, to their fullness, to fruition, to the place where the fruits or gifts are received. It may seem that fulfillment of our goals takes a long time. Some intentions may manifest within the two week phase prior to the next New or Full Moon. Some however, depending on their complexity, may take a much longer time. Just remember that our thoughts and emotions set Universal Action in motion and much work takes place behind the scenes as everything is orchestrated for fulfillment. Keep visualizing your goals as though you have already attained them and they will eventually manifest. Do not concern yourself with current conditions or worry about controlling it. The universe takes care of those details. Just keep seeing what you want, and move in that direction with your actions, and give no energy to what you don’t want. Patience is required.
