Story of the Week: Tree

Tree

A tree beside the sandy
River-beach
Holds up its topmost boughs
Like fingers towards the skies
They cannot reach,
Earth-bound, heaven-amorous.
This is the soul of man.
Body and brain
Hungry for earth
our heavenly flight detain.

Sri Aurobindo on a quiet mind

“A quiet mind does not mean there will be no thoughts or mental movements at all, but these will be on the surface, and you will feel your true being within, separate from them, observing but not carried away.”
