This video doesn’t water down its subject, so only a person with a degree in Physics will understand it completely. But I believe there is value in showing you what Quantum Field Theory is really about so long as three things are kept in mind:

1. Particle physics doesn’t deal with things, but rather with occasions of characteristics arising in fields.

2. For us, the significance of Quantum Field Theory is the intelligibility it represents.  Translation is an exquisite form of intelligibility.

3. As the founder of Quantum Mechanics, Max Planck, famously said: “I regard consciousness as fundamental. I regard matter as derivative from consciousness. We cannot get behind consciousness. Everything that we talk about, everything that we regard as existing, postulates consciousness.”
