  1. His view in the first paragraph is outdated. We now have plenty of evidence that the constituents of the quantum world have real and predictable effects, e. g., quantum entanglement, at the non-quantum level, so there is something “real” going on. Understanding that has been controversial for the full 100 years that QM has been in development.
    His view in the second paragraph is just as pertinent now as when he wrote it.
