Astrology for the Week Ahead: June 8 – 14

The week at a glance: The potential for confusion and anger build this week with Mars, the warrior planet, joining Neptune (visionary or illusionary influences) both in an agitating square to the Sun and Venus (core values). We are also in an eclipse season while at the same time four planets are retrograde—leading to the importance of reviewing and rethinking our life direction before moving forward.

The world is in turmoil as 2020 has brought wave after wave of disasters, from the virus, to the economy, to racial injustices coming to a head by the public viewing of the killing of George Floyd. Social distancing has been replaced with huge social gatherings of protests over racial injustices spreading worldwide. We are in a battle for the soul of our country and the ideals of democracy—will we emerge from this battle recommitted to democratic principles, or will we allow the rampages of capitalism to continue to trample the basis of democracy? May we emerge from this crisis and once again pledge as a country, “With liberty and justice for all.”

At the individual level, with Venus being retrograde, this is a good week to go within to align with your personal values and allow yourself to absorb all of the information coming in (Gemini), even if it is disturbing, (Mars square). To get the best of the Neptune influence, do something to align with your higher self and let your actions be guided from there. Prayer, meditation, listening to certain music, immersing in nature, or reading something inspirational are ways to connect with your higher self. 

From the Declaration of Independence: “We hold these truths to be self-evident: that all men are created equal; that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights; that among these are life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.”

Monday: Dive into your work or projects today with the Moon joining expansive Jupiter and a driven Pluto in productivity-oriented Capricorn. As the Moon enters socially aware Aquarius and joins responsible Saturn, you may want to consider your responsibility to contribute to a just society.

Tuesday: Social protests likely spike today with the Moon in freedom loving Aquarius agitated by rebellious Uranus. In your personal life, utilize this energy to become less inhibited in expressing your authentic self. A harmonious aspect to Venus this afternoon enhances friendships and close relationships.

Wednesday: A smooth day in the heavens amongst the agitations of this week with the Moon in friendship-oriented Aquarius in harmony to the Sun in communicative Gemini. This is a good day for studies, gathering and sharing information, and to reach out and connect with others. 

Thursday: The fog settles in today with the Moon moving into misty Pisces, and the Sun square illusionary Neptune. Be mindful of the fabled blind-spot this can create and don’t assume things are as they appear. Be patient, and allow yourself to feel any confusion without having to act on it. 

Friday: The fog thickens with the Moon in watery Pisces joining Mars (action) and mystical Neptune. This favors dance, music, creativity, romance, and spiritual activities, while not so favorable for tending to analytical, detail-intensive projects.

Saturday: Don’t assume this to be a normal day, it isn’t. With Mars, the planet of taking action, conjunct other-worldly Neptune, this day can be inspired, deluded, magical or confused, but not normal. Invoke your higher self before acting, to get the best and to avoid the rest, on this altered day. The trance state ends as the Moon enters fiery Aries later this afternoon and is in harmony to Saturn, promising greater clarity. 

Sunday: This can be a fun day if you allow for spontaneity and serendipity to sprinkle your activities with the Moon in spontaneous Aries and in harmony to Venus (relationships). Be patient with the emotional sensitivities of others this evening with an aggravating square to Mercury (communications). Attachments area,
