Hunter S. Thompson on God and the rocks

Hunter S. Thompson in 1971

“Call on God, but row away from the rocks.”

~ Hunter S. Thompson

Hunter Stockton Thompson (July 18, 1937 – February 20, 2005) was an American author and journalist who pioneered gonzo journalism, a style that blends real reporting with hallucinogenic perceptions and involves the author as part of the story. His subjective, first-person gonzo writing conveyed the human aspect of the events he covered. Thompson believed that objective journalism was a contradiction and blamed the industry’s focus on objectivity for American political corruption.  (Wikipedia.org)
