Andy Warhol once said, “In the future, everyone will be world-famous for 15 minutes.”
Famous people have always been a bugaboo for me. I like to think of myself as above being impressed by them, but the opposite is usually true.
I kind of melt whenever I run into one of them, or even come close. Some of the famous people I have met in my life include Joan Fontaine, Ray Bradbury, Shirley MacLaine, Bobby Kennedy, Marianne Williamson, Bernie Sanders. Well, now I’m just name-dropping, aren’t I?
Last night I thought, “How would God (or Universal Mind, if you will) react to the famous?”
Well, God, being God, would probably not be too impressed. infinite Intelligence, being Infinite Intelligence, would probably take it in stride.
In fact, God or Infinite Intelligence, which is to say the Universal intelligence seeded in each of us, probably has no regard for so-called fame at all.
Being famous, after all, means being known. Since Infinite Intelligence is all-knowing, therefore all is known. Or said another way, everyone is famous (to God).
Just as the public adores celebrities, we are all celebrities to Infinite Intelligence.
Infinite Consciousness loves you because you are a manifestation of Infinite Consciousness.
So the homeless lady on Ocean Avenue is just as famous as Joe Biden, just as known, just as real, just as true, just as valuable, just as important, just as connected to the Universal.
Just as much a God-being as Jesus or you or me.
What a relief. Now I no longer have to work at being famous in order to be accepted or of value, nor do I have to shrink in the presence of the so-called famous.
I only need to appreciate the famous who surround me each and every day.
And it’s not just 15 minutes. It’s now and it’s forever.
