“Mentorship and Initiation of the Soul” by Zoë Robinson, H.W., M.

You were there for me
Through the struggle and the pain
Of a passion built so long ago, so deep.
A voice full of fear yet hope
That wanted to control but needed to let go.
I was at the mercy of it’s power,
Compelled to speak it out!

I needed you to listen,
To say, “Speak.”
To hear behind the anguish
In my heart to another cry:
“Be here with me in my alchemy
As I turn inward to find ‘home,’
Embody trustee, mentor, witness, friend.”

Elders, I called on you to be present and you were there
To burn against, to test, to trust,
To be the reflective mirror, the conscious flame.
So when the immediacy of passion burned out
I could finally hear and allow.
Allow the Soul to be, be heard,
Be lived, in the eternal cycle of Life living Itself.
