Book: “Original Politics: Making America Sacred Again”

Original Politics: Making America Sacred Again

Glenn Aparicio Parry

To recreate a whole and sacred America, it is important to piece together the forgotten fragments of history that are currently keeping the country divided. Just as a traditional Native American potter begins a new pot with shards of old pots—honoring the ancestors, bringing the energies of the past into the present—Original Politics re-constellates the nation as a whole out of the seemingly disparate shards from our origins. The most significant forgotten piece is the profound effect Native America had on the founding values of this nation. Original Politics convincingly demonstrates how the best aspects of the founding vision of America were inspired, or directly appropriated, from living, Native American cultures: concepts such as natural rights, liberty, and egalitarian justice. Further, Parry traces the influence of Native America not only on the founding fathers, but on the ‘founding mothers’ of the 19th century women’s movement; as well as the 19th century abolitionist and modern ecological movements. Native America has inspired what Parry sees as the sacred purpose of the nation: bringing all the world’s peoples together on one soil in a harmonious cultural mosaic of unity in diversity. While there have been periodic setbacks (devolution) in our nation’s history, including today, these only serve as catalysts reigniting our sacred purpose. America is creating a new melting pot, and like the original vision, it will be a creation from the many into the one—only this time it must not leave anyone out. This includes the natural world. Original Politics is ultimately about respecting all forms of life and all forms of political expression as different aspects of one whole. It is a reclamation project that brings people, land, and nation together as one. The overall effect of the book is profoundly healing.

The Feminine in Depth Psychology and Yoga Philosophy with Leanne Whitney

New Thinking Allowed with Jeffrey Mishlove Aug 7, 2025 Leanne Whitney, PhD, is author of Consciousness in Jung and Patanjali. She is a transformational coach and also teaches yoga philosophy to yoga teachers. Her website is https://leannewhitney.com/ Here she describes the feminine as a psychological and spiritual principle that is not necessarily correlated with gender. (She describes New Thinking Allowed as embodying the feminine principle.) She notes that mother is associated with matter and earth godesses. Masculinity is associated mythologically with spirit and with sky gods. In yoga philosophy the feminine is associated with prakriti, a sanskrit work denoting anything manifest. Perusha is associated with masculinity and denotes the unmanifest consciousness. New Thinking Allowed host, Jeffrey Mishlove, PhD, is author of The Roots of Consciousness, Psi Development Systems, and The PK Man. Between 1986 and 2002 he hosted and co-produced the original Thinking Allowed public television series. He is also the Grand Prize winner of the 2021 Bigelow Institute essay competition regarding the best evidence for survival of human consciousness after permanent bodily death. He currently serves as Co-Director of Parapsychology Education at the California Institute for Human Science. (Recorded on November 22, 2019)

Full Moon In Aquarius – The Circle And The Dot

(Astrobutterfly.com)

On August 9th, 2025 we have a Full Moon in Aquarius.

When we have a Full Moon in Aquarius, the Moon is in Aquarius, and the Sun is in Leo.

The Sun’s – Leo’s ruling planet – symbol is the circle with a dot in the middle.

The dot inside the circle is our Identity, what makes us different from others. This is what Leo energy is all about – the conscious awareness of “I am” and the willingness to express that uniqueness openly.

What about Aquarius?

Aquarius is the circle without a dot.

sun and Aquarius

Imagine being part of a circle. The circle is the safe space where everyone is included. No one is “more special” than another.

Now imagine you are part of this safe circle and you step inside the circle. This is the healthy Leo energy. Your like minded group has your back. In the safety of the circle, you can express your Self. You can be your Self.

We need this safe Aquarius space to be ourselves. We can’t ourselves creatively if we feel unsafe, if we don’t feel we belong, if we are not part of a community. We need to be part of a group that ‘has our back’

That’s why Leo needs Aquarius.

Of course, Aquarius needs Leo too

The circle without the dot is just a circle. A space of infinite creativity, of infinite potential…

… but also a space where nothing happens

At some point, when the time is right, we need to take action and step inside the circle.

Full Moon In Aquarius – The Aspects

The Full Moon is at 17° Aquarius. Its rulers, Saturn (at 1° Aries) and Uranus (at 1° Gemini), are sextiling each other.

This Saturn-Uranus sextile is a symbol for the support groups, networks, and communities where our individuality is welcomed rather than suppressed. It’s the kind of environment where the circle is strong – offering structure and reliability (Saturn) – while leaving space for innovation, curiosity, and flexibility (Uranus).

Mars, freshly ingressed into Libra, is trining Uranus and opposing Saturn. This aspect speaks to the complexities of being part of a group – being inside the circle we talked about – while also protecting the dot at the center, your personal identity.

The Mars aspects invite us to:

  • Recognise the support and fresh opportunities that come with connection and collaboration – Mars trine Uranus in Gemini
  • And at the same time, commit to the ongoing effort of working toward your vision, resisting the pull of shortcuts or instant wins – Mars opposite Saturn in Aries

Mars in Libra, this “iron fist in a velvet glove” placement asks us to strike the right balance between self-assertion and team work.

Being too pushy, too me-me-me, might score you some quick wins… but it’s not a sustainable approach.

Being too accommodating risks losing yourself in other people’s plans – and waking up one day in a life that no longer reflects your own dreams.

The sweet spot is where your own goals align with the bigger vision of the group – that space where the dot and the circle meet. THAT’s where everyone wins.

the circle with the dot

This process of balancing, synthesizing, and continually adjusting never truly ends. Like the scales of Libra, we want to keep things in check so that one side never becomes so heavy it tips the whole structure.

The Full Moon in Aquarius comes with the promise that true freedom and authentic belonging are possible – when we step into the circle with purpose – and keep the balance where the dot fuels the circle, and the circle protects the dot.

We don’t want to recognize our own cult behavior because we take pride in being independent; we defend our own group’s rationality and purpose. Yet, as this book demonstrates, certain basic cult processes are present in the familiar and legitimate activities of our established religions, large corporations, government, the media, and the professions.

Darryl Robert Schoon’s stories, poetry and essays are political, spiritual, always human and, at times, enlightened. “Darryl’s voice is one that at times seems to tap into the very soul of the universe” (Marshall Thurber, founder of the Positive Deviant Network). Light in a Dark Place tells the story of Howard Hughes’ banker who gave details of a Reagan White House skim of Saudi funds.

Psychomagic presents the shamanic and genealogical principles Jodorowsky discovered to create a healing therapy that could use the powers of dreams, art, and theater to empower individuals to heal wounds that in some cases had traveled through generations. The concrete and often surreal poetic actions Jodorowsky employs are part of an elaborate strategy intended to break apart the dysfunctional persona with whom the patient identifies in order to connect with a deeper self. That is when true transformation can manifest.

Emmy Vadnais, OTR/L, takes you to the heart of how to listen to, and trust, your intuition — the wise part of you that is always there, day or night, ready to help you make the best decisions in all areas of life. Using simple activities and resources that are supported by science and research, she demonstrates how accessing your intuition can improve love, self-care, relationships, home, family, health, work, play, abundance, and spirituality.

Is AI ruining music?

What makes music “real” — is it the instruments, the voice, the creator’s intention or something else entirely? Dustin Ballard, the creative force behind the viral channel “There I Ruined It,” explores the weird, wonderful and sometimes unsettling ways AI is reshaping music. With fiddle solos and AI-powered mashups of your favorite songs, he invites us to ask: Are new tools fostering creativity, or just making noise?

I will not resist my growth today

AUG 9, 2025

Steve Johnson

I will not resist my growth today

How often it seems easier to resist the call of a greater becoming, remaining within the dark cocoon of a self that has settled for good enough. I choose not to remain at mere “good” today, but rather I will answer the call to greatness.

Not every lesson feels fun while it’s happening, and at times I have resisted growth fiercely. But I remain open today to the miracle of transformation. I know that as I move forward into a new realm of being, Love itself will aid me in my progress. Spirit will erase the patterns of fear that have sabotaged my past.

Dear God,
Overcome the fear that would keep me bound,
And deliver me to the highest heights.
I am ready and willing to forge ahead.
I know that You alone
Can unbind my feet.
Thank you, God.
Amen.

I will not resist my growth today
