John Samuel Waters Jr. is an American artist, actor, writer, and filmmaker. Born in Baltimore in 1946, he first gained fame in the 1970s for his transgressive cult films like Pink Flamingos, Female Trouble, and Desperate Living, which he calls his “Trash Trilogy”.
