Capricorn Full Supermoon
The Capricorn Full Moon emphasizes duty, responsibility, and authority — areas we may be grappling with internally or externally. It follows the Moon’s opposition to Mercury, suggesting discord and disagreements: it can simply be difficult to find middle ground between points of view and methodologies under such energies. But try we must, because the Full Moon can be such an intense time, pushing our capacities to their fullest as well.
The fact that this lunation is a Supermoon makes it even more intense as the Moon is the closest it will be to earth this year. This closeness causes greater seismic activity and tides. This can lead to earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, and issues with water etc…
If life has become unbalanced due to over-reliance on another’s resources, then now is the time when we might see further consequences. Alternatively, maybe we are carrying a greater burden of responsibility and equally needing to address its price. Either way, there is hope for improvement since the Moon goes on to make aspects with outer planet Neptune and Pluto. Quite often, when outer planets are emphasized, problems that affect us personally resolve through changes in general circumstances. So, we might just find there’s a solution to an uneven situation without having to do a great deal to hunt it out or make it happen. If only life were always so simple!
To be fair, the Moon’s sextile to Neptune could mean that a little more effort is initially required on our part, since the opportunity for improvement often exists where a sextile applies. But it’s up to us to bring the goal home. This effort will probably seem relatively minimal, but rather than take things for granted or assume a solution will be implemented, we’ll need to make one last push.
An example might be where we skim a message and skip over the fine print or miss vital details. This can happen all the more easily these days, it seems, with so many different kinds of communication portals on offer! It’s particularly easy to do in the digital world, where one must make an effort to notice or access follow-ups and replies across multiple apps, windows, and devices. Fail to do so and you may miss out on a useful bonus or opportunity.
The Moon’s dispositor is Saturn in Aquarius, which has recently trined Venus, lending some stability to relationship situations. Sometimes this is exactly what is needed, but can also represent a certain kind of rigidity in our values — especially with Saturn in a sign associated with strong principles. When Venus goes on to square Neptune after the Full Moon, the loosening of a certain amount of strictness may (or may not) be a blessing in disguise.
Exactly how this works out will depend on the root of a situation — as is so often the case. For instance, where someone’s rigid standards stem from a childhood insistence on getting their way, maybe they’re not quite exhibiting the fairness that Aquarius demands! Therefore, the move away from a Saturnine setup to a more Neptunian scenario of shifting sands may help to redistribute power sources and centers.
Where a foundation was established on more equitable grounds, perhaps the coming shake-up will create imbalance for a while. Either way, it could take time to let the dust settle and see what new issues need to be addressed — for life is almost always in a state of movement, whether we notice or not. Since the Moon sextiles Neptune and then goes on to conjoin Pluto, it appears that we will reach a decisive turning point in a relationship or situation before too long.
