Mark Twain, the pen name of Samuel Langhorne Clemens (November 30, 1835 – April 21, 1910), was an American humorist, essayist, novelist, and travel writer. His works are known for their humor, vivid details, and memorable characters. His best-known works are The Adventures of Tom Sawyer (1876) and Adventures of Huckleberry Finn (1884), which some call the “Great American Novel”.
