Carl Gustav Jung (July 26, 1875 – June 6, 1961 ) was a Swiss psychiatrist and psychologist who founded analytical psychology. He was a prolific author and illustrator who studied many cultures to understand the human psyche. Jung’s theories and concepts, like “introversion” and “extroversion”, have influenced psychology, psychiatry, art, literature, religion, and more. Jung’s ideas differed from his mentor and later rival, Sigmund Freud. 

Translation is a 5-step process of “straight thinking in the abstract” comparing and contrasting what seems to be truth with what you can syllogistically, axiomatically and mathematically (using word equations) prove is the truth. It is not an effort to change, alter or heal anything.

The claims in a Translation may seem outrageous, but they are always (or should always be) based on self-evident syllogistic reasoning. Here is one Translation from this week. 

1)    Truth is that which is so.  That which is not truth is not so.  Therefore Truth is all that is.  Truth being all is therefore total, therefore whole, therefore complete, therefore sole, therefore one.  Truth being true is therefore real, therefore right, therefore correct, therefore perfect, therefore ideal.  I think therefore I am.  Since I am and since Truth is all that is, therefore I, being, am Truth.  Since I, being, am Truth, therefore I, being, have all the attributes of Truth.  Therefore I, being, am total, whole, complete, sole, one, real, right, correct, perfect, ideal.  Since I am mind (self-evident) and since I (being) am Truth, therefore Truth is Mind.  (Two things being equal to a third thing are equal to each other.)  Since Truth is Mind, therefore Mind has all the attributes of Truth.  Therefore Mind is total, whole, complete, sole, one, real, right, correct, perfect,

2)    If I am a child of God, therefore God is my parent.

When Life Hands You Punches… *  *  *  *  * Pam Rodolph, H.W.,M.Did you hear the one about the student who found the most famous guru in the world? He said to the guru, “I wish to drain my heart of aggression and to develop subsequent inner sight,” — to which the guru responded by punching him in the face.    The student, surprised and taken aback, asked, “Why did you do that?” The guru did not answer. He punched him in the face again. The student had gone through so much to get to this teacher; his heart sank, and he thought he might give up. He couldn’t stand the thought.    So he asked the guru one more time, “Why did you do that?” The guru punched him in the face again. The student came every day, thinking that there must be a lesson in all this. He began to grow numb to the punches.    Then, one day, the whole thing broke in on him as hysterically funny. Just as the fist met his face — and it hurt equally as much as all the other times — a laugh was there to greet it. His reaction to the punch was blocked by the laugh.    The guru stopped punching him and said, “That’s what it takes — substitute the higher for the lower at the very moment of reaction. And get good at it.”  This is where you come and get good at it.    No, we’re not going to punch you!  However, life, we’re sure, has punched some of you in the face so much, you may not even look like yourselves. But we offer a place where you can come and learn to “get your own back” — literally. Where you find out how to punch back, but not in a painful, physical way. Assembly has a way of inspiring the laugh in you that overcomes hurt and misunderstanding. Take advantage of it. Don’t lose your thirst for self-knowledge, or your desire for the next level. Join humanity’s destiny!    We could spend 70 years on a spiritual path, and be no better off at the end of those years than at the beginning.
