New Thinking Allowed with Jeffrey Mishlove • Apr 12, 2025 Joseph Burkes, MD, is a board certified specialist in internal medicine. He is coauthor of the chapter titled “Medical Healings Reported by UAP Contact Experiencers: An Analysis of the FREE Date” in the anthology Beyond UFOs: The Science of Consciousness and Contact with Non Human Intelligence. In this interview, rebooted from 2019, he describes the details of his work with several organizations of using mental techniques including visualization and meditation to initiate visual contact with unidentified aerial phenomena (UAPs). These contacts included ostensible two-way communication with glowing orbs and lights in the sky and instances of missing time. Eventually, he concluded that the intelligences behind the phenomena were capable of manipulating human consciousness and human belief systems. New Thinking Allowed host, Jeffrey Mishlove, PhD, is author of The Roots of Consciousness, Psi Development Systems, and The PK Man. Between 1986 and 2002 he hosted and co-produced the original Thinking Allowed public television series. He is the recipient of the only doctoral diploma in “parapsychology” ever awarded by an accredited university (University of California, Berkeley, 1980). He is also the Grand Prize winner of the 2021 Bigelow Institute essay competition regarding the best evidence for survival of human consciousness after permanent bodily death.
