Urban Dictionary: Squat and Gobble

Squat and Gobble

Carnival sex act where you pack your consenting partners ass with honey and potato chips, tie their hands behind their back with carnival rope, and lower them into a bathtub full of debeaked turkeys. The carny must then squat down and masturbate to climax using anything they can capture with their knees before being untied.

For a man with six fingers on two hands, Carl is the best squat and gobble carny in five states. I once saw him dispatch a king size jacuzzi worth of turkeys in ten minutes, and I think one of the turkeys fell in love!

A Post-Materialist Social Order with Neal Grossman

New Thinking Allowed with Jeffrey Mishlove Nov 18, 2019 Neal Grossman, PhD, is an emeritus associate professor of philosophy at the University of Illinois, Chicago. He is author of Conversations with Socrates and Plato: How a Post-Materialist Social Order Can Solve the Challenges of Modern Life and Insure Our Survival. He is also author of The Spirit of Spinoza: Healing the Mind. Here he describes what society could be, based upon the reports from those who have had near-death experiences. The most fundamental premise is that people would naturally be truthful with each other at all times. Lying and deception would not occur. It would be recognized that newborn infants are coming into the world with a life purpose, and child-raising would be based on the premise of helping them to understand and actualize that purpose. New Thinking Allowed host, Jeffrey Mishlove, PhD, hosted and co-produced the original Thinking Allowed public television series. He is a past vice-president of the Association for Humanistic Psychology; and is the recipient of the Pathfinder Award from that Association for his contributions to the field of human consciousness exploration. The Spirit of Spinoza: Healing the Mind

The Spirit of Spinoza: Healing the Mind

by Neal Grossman

BENEDICT SPINOZA was a 17th century philosopher and spiritual psychotherapist. This intellectual self-help book provides important insights from Spinoza’s system of thought in a format accessible to the general reader, as well as to those already familiar with his philosophy. By applying his method to our personal lives, we may free ourselves from bondage to our lower emotions and habitual behaviors and thus begin to enjoy the “continuous, supreme, and unending happiness” promised by Spinoza. “Those of us who came of age in the twentieth century were taught that we must adopt a crazy-making strategy of compartmentalizing our lives, putting our rational, scientific side into one corner and our psychological/spiritual side in another. The precarious state of our world is evidence enough that this approach to life is a destructive dead end. You are holding an effective alternative in your hand. “The Spirit of Spinoza” is a brilliant treatise that has been field-tested by Professor Neal Grossman in his own life and that of his students over decades. This book is a masterstroke by a master teacher about a master philosopher. It is also delightfully dangerous, for it has the power to shift one’s life onto a new axis, where it becomes possible to blend knowledge and wisdom into an experience that can best be described, quite simply, as waking up.” – Larry Dossey, MD, author of “One Mind: How Our Individual Mind Is Part of a Greater Consciousness and Why It Matters”

The Original Intent of the Constitution | Myths of American History

Wondrium Mar 19, 2021 Learn more about American history and the Constitution at https://www.wondrium.com/youtube We often hear talk about the “original intent” of the writers of the Constitution, but the Founding Fathers did not plan to create the political system we have today: a democratic republic based on two national and permanent political parties. Indeed, “democracy” and “political parties” were dirty words to them. They did realize, however, that the world was likely to change, which is one reason they included an amendment process in the Constitution that has allowed this document to survive as our frame of government for so long. Virgo New Moon, August 27th, 2022

New Moon in Virgo

The Virgo New Moon brings the spirit of service and hard work to the fore, no matter how much effort we have or have not expended so far. We could go from a relatively quiet, restful, or even playful phase into an intensive work period — probably quite happily, even if it does take a little while to find our feet at first. Picking up with methods we already know may still require getting ourselves up to speed again. But once we do apply some energy, we’ll surely see results. Virgo puts us in touch with a capacity to tackle anything that involves intricate detail, which could be a great help when dealing with copious paperwork, figures, or practical complexity.

We should bear in mind that, with a New Moon, this is the early stage of events; we might not even know at this moment precisely what we’re aiming for or how the full picture should look. Yet, the Moon has an association with instinct and intuition; whilst some would argue these are two different functions, both are enigmatic and valuable. Either way, we can now tap into such mysterious channels of information to guide us forward, even when we don’t have the full map in view.

The Moon will be separating from a square to Mars in Gemini, where attention will feel divided — particularly by warring factions or through different arguments for how to move forward. Mars has a strong link with the physical side of life in the way that high spirits can promptly ignite an inner fire that translates quickly to definite action. The Moon, on the other hand, tends to be more pensive and aware of a variety of potential pathways and behaviors. A Virgo Moon can be rather irritable and sparky if pushed — as Mars might have managed! With this energy receding, the New Moon in Virgo may bring a sense of relief in being able to settle back into the intricate, analytical tasks it prefers.

There may, indeed, be a need to analyze what has happened over a recent situation once the heat has died down, bringing a chance to understand its meaning and potential. There might also be a need to just get lost in work or mundane tasks to let dust settle on other recent activities. The Moon has other aspects to make after the New Moon phase — such as a trine to Uranus, perhaps bringing a nice surprise or breath of fresh air. But we may be dwelling on recent events, so could need to be alert to avoid missing out on it.

Meanwhile, Mercury is in the early degrees of Libra, echoing a new phase subtly opening. Libra puts balance in the spotlight, which happens to also be reflected in the seesaw-style aspect of Mercury applying to soon oppose Jupiter — a planet that remains retrograde in Aries. These signs tend to pit the we-us-our perspective in any relationship — whether involving a couple, a larger team, or group of people — against the I-me-my focus of each individual involved. Such dissimilar viewpoints can make quite a difference to how decisions are made and how easily the energy moves forward in a given situation.

It could be that an opportunity is opening to notice where and how the focus merits a shift, whether slight or significant. We might need a higher level of judgment to manage the situation well. To achieve this, Mercury may be edging us to see more than one point of view; somehow, we manage to embrace another’s perspective without being bowled over or steamrollered by it. Yet, we can also hold our own position sufficiently well — or at least well enough to spot a point of compromise where all individuals will feel relatively satisfied with an agreed-on solution. Mercury has the dexterity to move in a number of directions, so, if the first suggestion doesn’t seem to work, there will still be another to consider!

Black Rage: Two Black Psychiatrists Reveal the Full Dimensions of the Inner Conflicts and the Desperation of Black Life in the United States

Black Rage: Two Black Psychiatrists Reveal the Full Dimensions of the Inner Conflicts and the Desperation of Black Life in the United States

by William H. Grier, Price M. Cobbs

The first book to examine the full range of black life from the vantage point of psychiatry, this widely acclaimed work has established itself as the classic statement of the desperation, conflicts, and anger of black life in America today. Black Rage tells of the insidious effects of the heritage of slavery; describes love, marriage, and the family; addresses the sexual myths and fears of blacks and whites; chronicles how the schools fail the black child; examines mental illness among black people and the psychic stresses engendered by discrimination; and, finally, focuses on the miasma of racial hatred that envelops this country, why it exists, and what will surely happen if it is not soon dispelled.

The Prophet On Love

BY KAHLIL GIBRAN

Then said Almitra, Speak to us of Love.

     And he raised his head and looked upon

the people, and there fell a stillness upon

them. And with a great voice he said:

     When love beckons to you, follow him,

     Though his ways are hard and steep.

     And when his wings enfold you yield to

him,

     Though the sword hidden among his

pinions may wound you.

     And when he speaks to you believe in

him,

     Though his voice may shatter your dreams

as the north wind lays waste the garden.

     For even as love crowns you so shall he

crucify you. Even as he is for your growth

so is he for your pruning.

     Even as he ascends to your height and

caresses your tenderest branches that quiver

in the sun,

     So shall he descend to your roots and

shake them in their clinging to the earth.

                                       •

     Like sheaves of corn he gathers you unto

himself.

     He threshes you to make you naked.

     He sifts you to free you from your husks.

     He grinds you to whiteness.

     He kneads you until you are pliant;

     And then he assigns you to his sacred

fire, that you may become sacred bread for

God’s sacred feast.

     All these things shall love do unto you

that you may know the secrets of your

heart, and in that knowledge become a

fragment of Life’s heart.

     But if in your fear you would seek only

love’s peace and love’s pleasure,

     Then it is better for you that you cover

your nakedness and pass out of love’s

threshing-floor,

     Into the seasonless world where you

shall laugh, but not all of your laughter,

and weep, but not all of your tears.

                                      •

     Love gives naught but itself and takes

naught but from itself.

     Love possesses not nor would it be

possessed;

     For love is sufficient unto love.

     When you love you should not say,

“God is in my heart,” but rather, “I am

in the heart of God.”

     And think not you can direct the course

of love, for love, if it finds you worthy,

directs your course.

     Love has no other desire but to fulfil

itself.

     But if you love and must needs have

desires, let these be your desires:

     To melt and be like a running brook

that sings its melody to the night.

     To know the pain of too much tenderness.

     To be wounded by your own under-

standing of love;

     And to bleed willingly and joyfully.

     To wake at dawn with a winged heart

and give thanks for another day of loving;

     To rest at the noon hour and meditate

love’s ecstasy;

     To return home at eventide with grati-

tude;

     And then to sleep with a prayer for the

beloved in your heart and a song of praise

upon your lips.

Gibran Khalil Gibran, usually referred to in English as Kahlil Gibran January 6, 1883 – April 10, 1931), was a Lebanese-American writer, poet and visual artist, also considered a philosopher although he himself rejected the title. Wikipedia
