TIMELAPSE OF FUTURE TECHNOLOGY: 2022 – 4000+
Venture City The journey to see future technology starts in 2022, when Elon Musk and SpaceX send the first Starship to Mars – beginning the preparations for the arrival of the first human explorers. We see the evolution of space exploration, from NASA’s Artemis mission, humans landing on Mars, and the interplanetary internet system going online. To the launch of the Starshot Alpha Centauri program, and quantum computers designing plants that can survive on Mars. On Earth, tech evolves with quantum computers and Neaulink chips. People begin living with bio-printed organs. Humans record every part of lives from birth. And inner speech recording becomes possible. And what about predictions further out into the future, when humans become level 2 and level 3 civilizations. When NASA’s warp drive goes live, and Mars declares independence from Earth. Will there be Dyson structures built around stars to capture their energy. Will they help power computers that can take human consciousness and download it into a quantum computer core. Allowing humanity to travel further out into space. Quotes about the future from: Arthur C. Ann-Sophie Barwich on the Surprising Neuroscience of Smell
Dec 20, 2020 (nousthepodcast.libsyn.com)
Vision is the best understood sensory domain. But smell is turning out to be wonderfully strange and even more complex than sight.
Dr Ann-Sophie Barwich joins me to explore ideas from her recent book Smellosophy. How is vomit related to parmesan cheese? Why do things smell so different depending on context? And what does smell teach us about the very nature of perception?
We explore:
- Why the ‘promiscuity’ of smell doesn’t make it merely subjective. Smells can have a multitude of qualities or notes depending on the context and depending on the individual. But this variability has a functional basis.
- The weird neural representation of smell. The patterns of neural activation underpinning smell don’t follow the mapping principles followed by other sensory modalities.
- Why philosophers shouldn’t ignore the neural ‘plumbing’ of sensory systems. Evolved brain mechanisms underly the nature and function of the perceptual experience – so they have to inform a philosophical account of perception.
Check out Dr Barwich’s book Smellosophy here, https://www.hup.harvard.edu/catalog.php?isbn=9780674983694, her article in Aeon magazine here https://aeon.co/essays/why-might-it-be-easier-to-fool-your-eyes-than-your-nose, and another great piece in Nautilus http://nautil.us/issue/91/the-amazing-brain/our-mind_boggling-sense-of-smell

Dancing lights: The sound of aurora borealis

Karin Lehmkuhl Bodony and Matthew Burtner have turned the electromagnetic field of the Northern Lights into music
Dec 29th 2020 (economist.com)
BY B.T.
WHAT SOUND does the solar system make? Usually only children, scientists and philosophers ask that sort of question. A whole branch of Renaissance thought speculated about the unheard “music of the spheres” that the planets in their orbits supposedly played; the notion obsessed the great astronomer Johannes Kepler. Now listeners have the chance to hear at least one song from the music of the spheres with mortal ears—helped a little by extreme low-frequency recordings and computer-aided electronic music.
To capture this celestial soundtrack, “Songs of the Sky”, an episode from BBC Radio 3’s “Between the Ears” strand, takes a winter journey through central Alaska. Within a crisply atmospheric soundscape of crunching snow, splitting ice and howling wolves, the programme, produced by Kate Bissell, shows how a wildlife ranger and a hi-tech composer collaborated to create otherworldly music out of the Northern Lights, or aurora borealis. The lights make the Arctic and subarctic skies glow with spectacular colours when charged particles carried from the sun on solar winds interact with gaseous particles in the upper atmosphere at latitudes with a weaker electromagnetic field.
Karin Lehmkuhl Bodony, a Native Alaskan, is a biologist for the US Fish and Wildlife Service who studies the wilderness around the town of Galena. Matthew Burtner, another Alaskan, is a composer, sound artist and “eco-acoustician”. He uses computer technology to transform natural processes into the serendipitous sounds that enrich his compositions. The spooky alchemy of transforming light into sound begins with the (very) low-frequency radio recorder Ms Lehmkuhl carries into the forests as she observes the Northern Lights. Radio, as they say, has all the best pictures: it is easy to imagine the Alaskan skies her words evoke as she sees first “diamonds set in velvet” then, as the aurora shows its glittering hand, an initial “single turquoise band” that spools into dancing ribbons of gold and red. In woodlands where bears, wolves, lynx and wolverine still prowl (listeners hear some of them), her equipment registers the sonic imprint of the solar shower as it collides with agitated particles of oxygen and nitrogen to generate the lights.
So what does the solar system sound like? It whistles and it whoops. It crackles and it chirps. It gurgles, chatters, squeaks and flows in liquid waves of sound. Ms Lehmkuhl likens it to “listening to whales underwater”. Mr Burtner—accompanied in the programme by his daughter, who asks philosophical questions about the wonders that they witness—feeds this auditory fingerprint into the eerily meditative music listeners later hear.
For him, such projects are a reminder of the “system of order in the solar system”, now disrupted on Earth by human actions that have led to planet-threatening climate change. Circumpolar peoples, Native Alaskans among them, have already seen their customs and livelihoods imperilled by the scrambled seasons and retreating ice. In her indigenous Alaskan community, Eliza Jones makes clear, “you’re not supposed to bother nature” but rather live within its laws. Mr Burtner’s electronic music of the spheres echoes the ancient harmonies of this world and alerts listeners to its new fragility.
Like much of today’s green-minded culture, his work yokes very modern techniques to a traditional reverence for nature and its miracles. You might call this the art of the techno-sublime, and creators from northerly latitudes seem to specialise in it. Katie Paterson, a Scottish artist, unites wit and wonder in projects of unearthly ambition. She has fixed a mobile phone and amplifier within a melting Icelandic glacier to broadcast the sound of climate change, and sent Beethoven’s “Moonlight Sonata” to the Moon in the form of Morse code, then played the distorted signal that returns on an automated piano. Cosmic forces and advanced recording technology meet too in the music of Icelandic singer and composer Björk—notably on her album “Biophilia”. Einojuhani Rautavaara, a Finnish composer, pioneered the fusion of electronica and environmentalism. His haunting “Cantus Arcticus” from 1972 blends Arctic birdsong tapes with a lush symphonic score.
Mr Burtner’s light-to-sound experiments belong in this genre of techno-sublimity. They aim, he says, to nurture “a sense of awe and mystery”. Brought into the range of human ears, his audible versions of the greatest lightshow above Earth invites listeners to hear something “outside of human expectation” and human time. “I saw Eternity the other night,” wrote Henry Vaughan, a 17th-century mystical poet, “like a great ring of pure and endless light.” These heavenly harmonies from Alaska let people listen to it, too.

Book: “Evolutionary Relationships: Unleashing the Power of Mutual Awakening”

Evolutionary Relationships: Unleashing the Power of Mutual Awakening
by Patricia Albere, Katherine Woodward Thomas (Goodreads Author) (Foreword)
For millennia, spirituality has been a deeply personal pursuit – monks on mountaintops and yogis in caves. But the world is more social than ever, and interconnectedness is transforming everything, from our family lives to work. Today, we need a spirituality that focuses more on “we” than “me.”
In Evolutionary Relationships, Patricia Albere draws on more than four decades of teaching work to introduce a new kind of spirituality called “mutual awakening” that can be explored with a partner. An “Evolutionary Relationship” is one that drives us, challenges us, compels us to grow and evolve. It is a consciously created connection that is formed between two or more people who mutually commit to explore and develop higher states of perception and awareness together. This book shows readers how to find and transform any committed relationship – whether with a spouse, lover, partner, close friend, or family member – into a dynamic engine for mutual evolution.
Evolutionary Relationships also contains current research on the psychological, cultural, scientific, and spiritual framework for mutual awakening. Albere builds on the work of esteemed developmental psychologists such as Abraham Maslow, Dr. David Hawkins, and Robert Kegan. She cites visionary futurists such as Barbara Marx Hubbard, and she identifies various levels of relating, explaining how these stages serve different human needs. The book also contains an insightful foreword by New York Times bestselling author Katherine Woodward Thomas.
This book is an experiential journey into a new way of relating and a practical workbook for deepening relationships. It includes a step-by-step guide to the author’s “Eight Activating Principles” for mutual awakening and a series of proven practices and methods that she has developed to achieve an Evolutionary Relationship with a partner.
Albere is an internationally known, contemporary spiritual teacher, working at ground zero of an evolutionary stream of spiritual awakening. She is the founder of the Evolutionary Collective and she has worked with over 200,000 people in groups during the past 40 years, innovating the new fields of post-personal development and intersubjective awakening. Albere also hosts the popular “Evolutionary Collective Conversations,” a global talk radio show with over 500,000 listeners, in which today’s evolutionary leaders join her for dynamic dialogues. Book: “The Nine Waves of Creation: Quantum Physics, Holographic Evolution, and the Destiny of Humanity”

The Nine Waves of Creation: Quantum Physics, Holographic Evolution, and the Destiny of Humanity
by Carl Johan Calleman, Barbara Hand Clow (Foreword)
A guide to aligning your life with the frequencies of the Nine Waves of Creation
• Explains the quantum physics behind the Waves of the Mayan Calendar system and how their holograms shape the human mind
• Shows how throughout history each revolution in human consciousness has been driven by the activation of one of the Nine Waves of Creation
• Reveals how we can consciously work to deactivate the negative patterns of the Sixth Wave and manifest the unity consciousness of the Ninth Wave
In the past few years the world has witnessed changes in social consciousness whose sudden development the ruling scientific paradigm has not been able to explain. These changes correspond with the activation of new Waves of Creation emanating from the center of the universe that influence human thinking. From the Big Bang to the present, these Waves guide the evolution of the universe and, through their holographic resonance with the human mind, profoundly shape revolutions in religion, technology, economy, and social consciousness.
Presenting a quantum-holographic perspective on world history and human consciousness, Carl Calleman explains the quantum physics behind the Waves of the Mayan Calendar system and how these Waves allow us to understand the shifting eras on Earth as well as the possibilities of the future. He describes how, prior to the activation of the 6th Wave in 3115 BCE, our social systems were based on a unified cosmic order, but the hologram of this Wave shifted society to an all-consuming focus on Good and Evil, leading to the rise of patriarchal religious structures, slavery, and warfare. He explores how later Waves and their new holograms helped humanity survive the negative effects of the 6th Wave, such as the Industrial Revolution of the 7th Wave and the Digital Revolution of the 8th Wave. In 2011, the 9th Wave was activated, bringing with it an accelerated push for a more egalitarian world, a rising awareness of unity consciousness, and access to the full power of all Nine Waves of Creation.
Calleman explains how our individual resonance with each Wave plays a role in the quality of our lives and how we must consciously work to resonate with the higher Waves. Revealing how we can become quantum activists in a holographic world by aligning with the 9th Wave, the author shows how we each can help manifest the destiny of humanity hinted at in ancient texts.

Many front-line workers refuse Covid vaccines as distribution struggles
December 31, 2020 (NBC News)
A large percentage of front-line workers in hospitals and nursing homes have refused to take the Covid-19 vaccine, a hurdle for public health officials as the country struggles to roll out inoculations around the country.
About 50 percent of front-line workers in California’s Riverside County have refused to take the vaccine, Riverside Public Health Director Kim Saruwatari told The Los Angeles Times on Thursday. California is currently overwhelmed with cases as hospital staff in Southern California face a shortage of intensive-care units and have created makeshift units.
Vaccine development and distribution has been the target of persistent conspiracy theories and disinformation on social media, although it’s unclear how much impact this anti-vaccination movement has had on overall public trust in the process.
About 2 in 10 Americans are certain they will not change their mind about refusing the vaccine, according to data from the Pew Research Center. And 62 percent said they would be uncomfortable being among the first to receive the vaccine.
Anecdotally, an estimated 60 percent of Ohio nursing home employees have refused the vaccine already, Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine said during a news briefing Wednesday. It’s a stark contrast to the number of nursing home residents who have taken the vaccine when offered, which DeWine guessed to be about 85 percent.
“We’re not going to make them, but we wish we had a higher compliance,” DeWine said. “And our message today is: The train may not be coming back for awhile. We’re going to make it available to everyone eventually, but this is the opportunity for you, and you should really think about getting it.”
Rollout for the vaccine has already been met with several logistical hurdles as only 2.6 million people have been vaccinated as of Wednesday. A review by NBC News of earlier data Tuesday found that at the current rate, it would take almost 10 years to inoculate enough Americans to get the pandemic under control.
It’s unclear how refusal by essential workers, who are prioritized to receive the vaccine in the first phase of administration, could further hamper the distribution efforts.
A survey of 2,053 New York City firefighters found that more than half said they would refuse the Covid-19 vaccine when it became available to them, according to a poll released by the Uniformed Firefighters Association this month.
Some of those firefighters may overlap with those who have already contracted the coronavirus and don’t believe they need to get the inoculation, Andy Ansbro, the union president, said.
“As a union we are encouraging our members to get the vaccine, but we are defending their right to make that choice,” Ansbro said. “I personally feel this vaccine is safe, I’ve done my own research, I will be getting the vaccine and I will be encouraging other members to do so. In the end, it is their own personal choice.”
Ansboro was among the many essential workers who received the vaccine, according to a photo posted by the UFA on Tuesday. The FDNY reported that 1,000 members had been vaccinated by Tuesday.
A number of politicians, public health officials and front-line workers have taken the vaccine publicly to assert confidence in the shots, including leading infectious disease expert Dr. Anthony Fauci, President-Elect Joe Biden and Vice President Mike Pence.
Intensive care unit nurse Sandra Linsdsay was among the first in the country to receive the vaccine, telling reporters that she felt “relieved” afterward.
“I feel the healing is coming,” Linsdsay said. “I hope this marks the beginning of the end of the very painful time in our history.”

Hallo 2021 – Are You Ready?

| By Wendy Mandy |
| Many people are walking into 2021 with confusion and fear. I say let’s walk into 2021 with hope and clarity inside ourselves. Most of us agree we cannot expect our political leaders to take us anywhere good where profit for a few is the prevailing agenda. But how can we do that? Care of the self with small daily practises is the answer. The world will probably stay, shall I say “messy“, for a little while longer as we cannot look for “saviours“ out there. We are the saviours that can stay healthy in body, mind and spirit. If we feel good inside, we can weather the storm of the end of the Piscean Age whilst we go into the Aquarian Age. I learnt about inner strength in difficult times when my very narrow boat capsized on a remote river in Brazil in a collision with another boat. I lost my bags, hurt my leg and split my bottom lip. It was raining hard. I was dragged onto the bank by my friend and the 4 of us then had to crowd onto another very narrow boat sitting in single file. I held my lip closed with my fingers as the blood dripped onto my leg. All I could hear was the rain and my teeth chattering from shock and cold. I learnt quickly to breathe and chant a Yawanawa song to survive for the next 6 hours until we reached a village on the river. Gradually my body relaxed, the fear drained away and peace came over me and my body mended on the journey. As a child I learnt that being hot and cold keeps us flowing. We lived in a very cold cottage and in the morning you had to jump out of bed and wash fast and light fires. I had to go outside, feed animals and feed the AGA cooker. The entire ceremony of making us warm and interfacing with nature fed my spirit. There was no option to lie in bed and feel unwell and cold. Somewhere in our search for endless external comfort, and our fear of death or pain we have separated ourselves from our feelings and nature I suggest you get out of bed, shower and then turn it to cold, and stay in it as long as you can! The blood will move and you will literally be switched on! It seems hard at first, but then you will get used to it and actually enjoy it! Ask any wild swimmer in the sea, rivers or lakes and they will tell you what a difference it makes to their lives. Then if you have time or later in the day do your daily practises. They could be yoga or Pilates or Wim Hoff, painting, dancing, running, walking, singing or meditation. All of these practices will help you get out of your left brain and into your body, your gut brain and your heart brain. If you feel really stuck, negative and scared, write down those thoughts and put them in the fire (or a saucepan if you have no outside space). Try going for a walk without the phone and talk to the trees! Try giving out love to a child that needs it or offer to take your neighbours dog for a walk! The most important thing is to MOVE energy. Nature is moving all the time and we are a part of nature. Try to meditate with the breath and tune into all that is out there that has only LOVE for you. Try not to let workaholism take over your life because working at home will mean you’re constantly on screens which can feel more alienating even though it may feel like you’re connecting. Intersperse screen time with connecting into your body, your heart and your soul. Try not to sit in anxiety and depression. Move into flow. Oxygenation, good water and food are good for the body. Start today, make mistakes and keep going! If the negativity persists, bash a pillow or go running. We are now in the Aquarian Age and it will get better. We must step out of the collective shadow and meet this new age that lies beyond the political agenda we find ourselves in. Somehow, we have allowed ourselves to let an outside force tell us what our true health is and how we have to live. True health lives inside of you and is attainable for all. Please take the time to listen to this excellent podcast by Wim Hoff and Russel Brand who have both overcome difficulty and know that health and happiness is an inside job. This is achieved when we make the effort to meet our shadow and go beyond our edge. All my love to all of you Wendy |
