New Moon in Scorpio – Trust, Betrayal and Emotional Boundaries

(Astrobutterfly.com)

On November 1st, 2024, we have a New Moon at 9° Scorpio. This is a supportive New Moon, trining Saturn in Pisces.

The New Moon encourages focused commitment and deep introspection (Scorpio), helping us align our goals with our highest ideals (Pisces).

With Saturn’s stabilizing influence, any seeds planted now have the potential to grow into a beautiful flower.

New Moon in Scorpio trine Saturn

Scorpio – Trust And Betrayal

If we were to distill Scorpio’s core themes, they center around trust and betrayal. Everything Scorpio values is rooted in a need for trust and a deep fear of betrayal.

White lies, being late, or missing subtle cues that something feels off may seem minor to most signs; but not to Scorpio. For Scorpio, these are warning signs: “You didn’t notice I had a bad day? You’re not fully invested.” “You told a little lie about why you were late? You can’t be trusted.”

These reactions may feel extreme, but Scorpio has a point. Shortcuts, even small lies, erode the foundation of true connection. Scorpio is in it for the long haul and values authenticity above all.

Scorpio And Betrayal – A Visceral Response

For Scorpio, betrayal isn’t just an emotional experience – it’s almost visceral. Every Scorpio has felt betrayal, even in seemingly minor situations, like not being immediately attended to as an infant if their parents were deeply asleep.

While other signs might not retain such a deep imprint, for Scorpio, these experiences form the very foundation of their emotional landscape.

In many ways, Scorpio placements will unconsciously recreate scenarios that test trust, often setting up situations where betrayal is likely, in an attempt to confront this wound and ultimately find forgiveness and release.

Paradoxically, to gain control over this dynamic, Scorpio may become the one to manipulate, lie, or interfere in others’ affairs – doing things that contradict what they value most: trust.

Sometimes, this is Scorpio’s way of seeking ‘justice’ for what others have done to them. Scorpio rarely forgives and never forgets. If you cross them, they will find a way to get back to you; they can’t help it.

Scorpio, with its 8th house association, is the accountant of the zodiac. While Libra might symbolize the scales, it’s Scorpio that truly weighs and keeps score.

The 2nd explanation is more complex: Scorpio needs to re-create betrayal scenarios over and over to understand them fully and, ultimately, to find forgiveness.

New Moon In Scorpio – From Betrayal To Trust

Scorpio deals with the pain of betrayal in two main ways: either they retreat into their shell, becoming emotionally closed off and skeptical, or they use emotions as a tool to confront the betrayal – sometimes through manipulation, emotional outbursts, or ultimatums.

Scorpio finds it difficult to let go; Scorpio is the fixed water sign of the zodiac. Water is our emotions and connections to others, and the fixed quality indicates a deep need for stability, consistency and commitment.

All this dynamic might sound intense – because it is. But there’s a reward: once a Scorpio person trusts you, once you’re ‘the one’ after they’ve eliminated the 99.9% of liars, cheaters, and superficial people out there (kidding… but maybe not entirely), they are deeply giving, loving, and loyal.

This focus on betrayal highlights exactly how we don’t want to approach Scorpio season, and especially this New Moon in Scorpio. When we have a New Moon in Scorpio, the Scorpio area in our chart resets.

We have a choice: to continue unconsciously replaying the betrayal scenario – and thus re-experiencing the same Scorpio struggles – OR to cultivate awareness and build trust, form genuine connections, and establish healthy emotional boundaries.

New Moon In Scorpio – Let’s Get The “Halloween” party started!

While Scorpio season technically began on October 22nd with the Sun’s ingress into the sign, it’s when the Moon joins the Sun in a conjunction that we fully enter Scorpio’s realm – that’s the New Moon in Scorpio.

In some ways, we could even say that Scorpio season truly starts with this New Moon.

A New Moon is the point when the Sun and Moon meet, and the Moon disappears from view. In this union with the Sun, a (Scorpio) seed is planted.

This is why we associate New Moons with new beginnings and why we often set intentions at this time.

So, on November 1st, during the New Moon in Scorpio, that’s the moment to plant the seeds of Scorpio-like intentions – intentions centered on transformation, depth, and emotional truth.

Scorpio intentions could mean different things to different people, but they are always rooted in trust and commitment.

What project, relationship, or personal goal could benefit from trust, loyalty, and determination right now?

These are not fleeting or superficial goals. They are meaningful projects that require time, patience, and dedication to grow and nurture deeply.

New Moon In Scorpio Trine Saturn – Emotional Boundaries

The great news is that the New Moon in Scorpio is trine Saturn in Pisces.

Saturn in Pisces’ mission is to teach us about setting healthy emotional boundaries.

Pisces is a very emotional sign (water sign) and being also the mutable sign of the zodiac, it can struggle with boundaries.

Saturn, the ringed planet, is pretty much the definition of boundaries. Saturn is all about structure, discipline, and defining what’s realistic and sustainable.

This connection between Saturn and the New Moon in Scorpio is a stabilizing influence, helping both Pisces and Scorpio energies to ground and define what truly works in our emotional lives and long-term goals.

There are 2 ways that a lack of healthy emotional boundaries can manifest:

1. Ignoring one’s inner voice and giving in to others’ expectations – similar to Scorpio’s tendency to close off emotionally while still engaging in ‘relationships’ that lack depth and authenticity, as they are not rooted in true connection

2. The opposite extreme, oversharing as a way to gain attention, or using one’s emotions to manipulate situations for personal gain

New Moon In Scorpio – Setting Scorpio Intentions

In both scenarios, there is no healthy balance. We don’t want to ignore our emotions, but we don’t want to allow them to take control over our lives either. The goal is to engage with our emotions with discernment.

Setting healthy emotional boundaries means (a) trusting and acting in alignment with our true feelings. (b) taking responsibility for our emotions by sharing them thoughtfully, with the right people and in the appropriate context.

In this way, Scorpio’s core themes of trust and betrayal can be addressed in a healthier way. Emotional honesty, combined with clear boundaries, can help us prevent the cycle of mistrust and manipulation.

At the New Moon in Scorpio, we have an opportunity to reset with a clear intention to be truthful, responsible, and respectful in how we handle both our own and others’ emotions.

Having written groundbreaking theory about the developmental genesis of chronic shame and its treatment in relational psychotherapy, Patricia DeYoung returns to speak from her heart about what it’s like to inhabit a life of shame. In six essays, she writes of the essential impasses of chronic shame: silence, dissociation, isolation, the abolition of desire, the imposition of right and wrong, and ending life without meaning. Each impasse deserves a story.

The Egyptian Book of the Dead is one of the oldest and greatest classics of Western spirituality. With Awakening Osiris, Ellis has transformed the ancient stories told through hieroglyphs for modern readers and approaches the Book of the Dead as a profound spiritual text capable of speaking to us today. These writings suggest that the divine realm and the human realm are not altogether separate; they remind us that the natural world—the substance of our lives—is fashioned from the stuff of the gods.

With the Star Gate secrets declassified and the program mothballed by the Central Intelligence Agency, the story can now be told of the ordinary soldiers drafted onto the battlefield of human consciousness. Using hundreds of interviews with the key players in the Star Gate program, and gathering thousands of pages of documents, Smith reveals many secrets about how remote viewing works and how it was used against enemy targets.

The double-ringed Vivaldi Crater, on the planet Mercury, spans 215 kilometers and was imaged by the BepiColombo spacecraft (a joint project of the European and Japanese space agencies) on a flyby earlier in September. Double-ringed craters are rare, and the cause of the inner rings remains a topic of research. The BepiColombo spacecraft will eventually orbit around Mercury, the Solar System’s innermost planet.

Self-Observation with Charles T. Tart

New Thinking Allowed with Jeffrey Mishlove • Nov 1, 2024 This video is a special release from the original Thinking Allowed series that ran on public television from 1986 until 2002. It was recorded in about 1994. It will remain public for only one week. Countless factors can mitigate against self-observation in Western society. Charles Tart, PhD, noted psychologist and author of Waking Up, suggests we begin by learning to focus on seemingly trivial details such as bodily sensations. Through repeated and diligent practice, he says, the process of self-observation leads us to a larger view of ourselves and our potential. Charles T. Historians Unearth Final Fundraising Telegraph Hitler Sent From Bunker

Published: November 1, 2024 (TheOnion.com)

BERLIN—In a discovery that sheds new light on the infamous dictator’s last moments, historians in Berlin confirmed Friday that they had unearthed the final fundraising telegraph Hitler sent from the Führerbunker. “After unearthing the telegraph titled ‘Freunde, es ist Adolf’ and dated April 24, 1945 amongst archival files, we quickly realized that the document contained Hitler’s last-minute plea for donations amid the Red Army’s offensive into Berlin,” said German historian Hilda Bauer, adding that the fundraising message reportedly attempted to energize the Nazi base by featuring a celebrity endorsement from Leni Riefenstahl. “We now know that right up until he shot himself in the Führerbunker, Hitler continued angling for a major cash infusion by telling Germans that the next few days were ‘critical to continuing their Thousand-Year Reich,’ as well as emphasizing that the Soviets were ‘THIS CLOSE to taking Berlin unless pure-blooded Aryans act now.’ While telling Germans that his ‘one last ask’ for their 20-Reichsmark donation would help keep the Red Army out of the Reich Chancellery no doubt helped net him a few extra donations, he ultimately took his life a few days later after news outlets began calling the war for the Allies.” At press time, historians had reportedly unearthed an additional fundraising telegraph from Joseph Goebbels offering to enter donors into a raffle to grab beers with him and Martin Bormann.

November: Time

NOVEMBER

Time

In farming the earth, the seasons are rigid and predictable. Winter begins each year at the winter solstice, and although it will vary in rainfall and temperatures, it is always winter and always comes at this exact time. The same, of course, is true of spring, summer, and fall. The outer farmer can rely on this predictability and need not be concerned with the grape harvest during threshing time or pruning during the time for sowing.

The seasonal fluctuations of inner farming are, by contrast, unpredictable. Every moment brings with it a new challenge and there is no telling when a labor may become relevant. Now confusion or lethargy sets in, so I must reaffirm or reformulate my aim, as discussed in January. Then negativity flares up, calling to mind the principles discussed in October. Then again, momentum seeks to overtake me, so I must apply the methods taught in May. To farm myself, I must remain armed with all my tools and be ready for the unexpected.

The acreage of outer farming is land; the acreage of inner farming is time. The more time we invest in self-observation, plugging leaks, cultivating attention, and applying any of the methods taught here, the faster our work progresses. On the other hand, the more time we waste through only intermittent practice, the more we allow our habits to reassert themselves and beat back our progress. There is aggressive competition over our time. Every thought, mood, desire, and sensation, competes to dominate our internal landscape and waste our time. This explains why it is so difficult to even remember to do our work. Unless we are vigilant, our impulse to work is crowded out by these other impulses. To dedicate more time to inner work—to utilize more of our acreage—we will have to continually shore up our impulse to work above our crowded internal landscape. We will have to remember more and forget less.

For this end, we employ the counting exercise. We aim to remember our work at least 100 times a day, tallying our progress through keeping count. There are various external aids for this, from the mechanical clicker to the digital phone. All are useful, as the point here is to attach an objective number to our frequency. Each time we remember, and make an effort to apply any tool of this teaching, we ‘click’ on our counter.

Tallying our moments of remembrance by itself motivates us to increase their frequency. At the same time, it exposes patches of our day lost in prolonged forgetfulness. Why was I able to click fairly frequently on my way to work, but entirely forgot once I stepped into my office? Why was I able to maintain good frequency while at my desk but lost remembrance altogether during lunchtime? The longer patches of forgetfulness outline the parts of our acreage that are presently under the full sway of Personality. This indicates unambiguously in which direction our farming must proceed.

When a seed germinates, it pushes its root downwards and its stem upwards in a line vertical to the plane of the earth. Likewise, when we successfully apply any of the methods taught here, we push through the artificiality of our Personality and touch Essence. Personality relies on our not-seeing, or self-forgetting. The more often we remember, the better we utilize our acreage, and the faster we will see progress in this work.

This is our labor for November.

Scorpio New Moon, November 1, 2024

Scorpio New Moon

The Scorpio New Moon encourages going deeper, to find answers to problems we might normally try to push away. Or at least it allows enough space and courage to face what may otherwise seem too unpleasant or hard to fathom. In the general run of life, maybe we don’t have sufficient time for in-depth research, but this New Moon helps to clear the way.

What empowers us may well be the ability to bring something to light from the dark, where we were previously burdened through holding on to secret information or hidden feelings. The Sabian symbol associated with 10 Scorpio, which encompasses the position of the Sun and Moon, is described in Dane Rudhyar’s An Astrological Mandala (Random House, 1973, p. 197) as: “A fellowship supper reunites old comrades.” In his expanded explanation, Rudhyar highlights “the essential nature of the bond that unites individuals who have participated in some common activity” and “the social feeling of communion.” Ultimately, the focus falls on a group-personality “that gives birth to collective emotions and values.” Rudhyar also stresses “the importance of establishing or strengthening links with those with whom one has shared, or can share, living experiences.”

It may be time for us to reconnect with people from our past with whom we share similar values, or with whom we have gone through common experiences together. There we may find a sense of fellowship and comradeship that prevents us from feeling alone with particular issues or challenges. Knowing that where we have landed is not an isolated outcome could make all the difference to how we cope in the future. Likewise, if we are going through a situation that is new to us and quite challenging, it might be beneficial to seek out a support group, among others undergoing a similar experience. In this environment, we may feel held, supported, and surprisingly at home.

There are, of course, occasions when we have no idea that someone is going through a similar experience, and it is only by owning up to some of our own realities and challenges that we witness another person’s related story emerging. Perhaps the precise details will not match exactly, but the overall life challenge and/or the experience of particular emotions and values could revolve around common ground.

A reasonable example is where one person was talking about the problems of brain fog, which physical illness was causing for them; when they told a friend, the friend mentioned that they, too, suffered with this dilemma, only their brain fog was due to depressed feelings relating to a stressful family situation. The cause may not be common, but the resulting effect is similar, which also happened to be the case around the feelings of concern, anxiety, and frustration that it created. Yet, in sharing the information, both people felt a little more comforted and no longer alone with such deep feelings to cope with, on top of the complexities of experiencing the frustrations of brain fog in the first place.

The Scorpio Moon trines Saturn in Pisces, pointing to a need for stability and simplicity, which can often go hand in hand. If there are fewer options to take into account, attention is less scattered and the ship of life can be steered along a calmer, clearer course.

There are also times when Saturn refers to sheer hard work or effort. And it may be through a big work effort that we can manage to gain a sense of strength and stability, after being in a haze. As we become more focused on a particular task in hand, so the whole of our life seems a little more coherent, somehow.

As Saturn is the Lord of Time and Substance, we may be able to make better use of our hours, and feel that we are not wasting precious resources. The Moon is disposited by Mars in the last degree of Cancer, powerfully opposed by Pluto, its other dispositor, in Capricorn (Saturn’s sign). There is great potency in this planetary pairing if we can find the common ground between these planets, which may relate to energy and power balances. With any luck, we can let go of any potentially destructive impulses and allow positive energy and common goals to lead the way.

Weekly Invitational Translation: Neuropathy can be a debilitating disease.

Translation is a 5-step process of “straight thinking in te abstract” comparing and contrasting what you think is the truth with what you can syllogistically, axiomatically and mathematically (using word equations) prove is the truth.

The claims in a Translation may seem outrageous, but they are always (or should always be) based on self-evident syllogistic reasoning. Here is one Translation from this week.

1)    Truth is that which is so.  That which is not truth is not so.  Therefore Truth is all that is.  Truth being all is therefore total, therefore whole, therefore complete, therefore full, therefore otherless, therefore one, therefore united, therefore harmonious.  Since I am and since Truth is all that is, therefore I, being, am Truth.  Since I, being, am Truth, therefore I, being, have all the attributes of Truth.  Therefore I, being, am total, whole, complete, full, otherless, one, united, harmonious, orderly.  Since I am Mind and since I am Truth, therefore Truth is Mind.  (Two things being equal to a third thing are equal to each other.)

2)    Neuropathy can be a debilitating disease.

Word-tracking:
neuropathy:  nerve, disease of the nervous system
nervous:  anxious, uneasy, timid, unable to tolerate stress
debilitating:  debilitate, weak
potent:  the ability to be
disease:  unease, nervous

3)    Truth being all that is and power/potent being the ability to be, therefore Truth is unlimited power OR Truth is unlimited strength.  Since Truth is unlimited strength and since Truth is all that is, therefore there is no weakness in Truth OR  Strength is everything.  Since Truth is whole, complete and perfect, there is nothing in Truth to stress about, therefore Everything is easy.  Since everything is easy, therefore that which is uneasy or dis-easy is not so.  Therefore Truth is that which is well.  Truth being Mind, ergo Consciousness and sensation being an aspect or expression of consciousness, therefore Truth is sensation.

4)    Truth is unlimited power OR Truth is unlimited strength.
There is no weakness in Truth OR Strength is everything.
        Everything is easy.
Truth is that which is well.
        Truth is sensation.

5)    Sensation is strong, easy, happy and well.
