Ayahuasca’s Therapeutic Potential with Rachel Harris

New Thinking Allowed with Jeffrey Mishlove Oct 20, 2022 Rachel Harris, PhD, a psychologist, is author of Listening to Ayahuasca: New Hope for Depression, Addictions, PTSD, and Anxiety. In this 2017 interview, she describes how the ayahuasca plant is used as a religious sacrament in shamanistic ceremonies throughout several countries in the Amazon basin region. She describes her extensive research interviewing individuals who have used this medicine in North America. Her preliminary results suggest that ayahuasca has significant psychotherapeutic healing potential in many cases. She also describes the shamanistic world view associated with the spirit of the plant as a teacher. New Thinking Allowed host, Jeffrey Mishlove, PhD, is author of The Roots of Consciousness, Psi Development Systems, and The PK Man. Between 1986 and 2002 he hosted and co-produced the original Thinking Allowed public television series. He is the recipient of the only doctoral diploma in “parapsychology” ever awarded by an accredited university (University of California, Berkeley, 1980).
