Last April, Ben Gilberti pointed out that as a Mentor preparing to give a workshop he did not feel comfortable about how to (or whether to) approach the subject of Metonymy Translation (MTR).
Out of that discussion Al Haferkamp suggested to me that the fundamentals of MTR should be made available to Mentors who might want to get more information about this method that comes from the last years of Thane’s life. I agreed and went about organizing a substantive two-hour workshop / seminar that will include the essential underpinnings of the method (including its relationship to Translation), an example of MTR in use, and a Q&A period. The cost will be $40.
This is an exclusive offer to Mentors who want to know how to use the method and to understand its ontological basis, as well as how it serves as an adjunct to Translation.
Date: Saturday, July 13, 2019
Time: 7:00 p.m. EDST; 4:00 p.m. PDST; 2:00 p.m. HST
I know, short notice. If there’s interest we can plan on a repeat webinar in the Fall. This event will also serve as a workshop for students who attended the Hawaii class.
